Hello everyone!

Will taking more (as in more advanced) semesters of the med school prereqs help on the MCAT? For example, the MCAT requires only 2 semesters of general non-calc physics, but will 2 extra semesters of calc-based physics dramatically help me on the MCAT? Same thing with bio and chem. Is more better? Or do those classes just make you think more than you should on the MCAT?

Either physics sequence will be fine. If you enjoy calc and feel confident that you'd do well in the class, take it. If not, take the trig-based. Obviously you wouldn't take both the trig AND the calc-based. They're essentially the same class; one just has more advanced math. Your school probably wouldn't give you credit for both.

As for bio and chem, if you have room in your schedule, physiology would help. Other upper level chem and bio classes won't make you think too hard, but they cover topics that just aren't tested on the exam, so they won't help you either.
