I decided late to pursue medicine instead of a PhD. I've been scrambling to gather as many ECs as possible to for this cycle, but I've decided to wait a year. Here's what I'm doing now and some definite things that will be happening in the next year. I'd like advice on if I need to add anything. Thanks for any help!

cGPA: 3.97

MCAT: studying

Clinical Volunteering: ER & Clinical Simulation Center- 242 hours (by June 1st)

Non-Clinical: Meals on Wheels- 44 hr (by June 1st), tutoring/ other work at underserved HS... still arranging, but may happen - 30 hr (by June 1st), Survey of palliative care capabilities in home state for state's Palliative Care Advisory Council- 300 hr

Clubs: President and Founder of Science Journal Club. Started 2-1-17. It's a journal club designed to teach new students how to read papers., Neurosurgery Resident Journal Club and Biostatistics Class (asked to attend by current PI

Research: ~1500 hrs- 2nd or 3rd author (basic science paper), 2 1st author papers (clinical), 3 2nd author papers clinical, 2 poster presentations, 2 presentations at national/ international (possibly) oncology/ surgery conferences, presentation at tumor board.

TA: 400 level physiology class... will, on occasion, lecture entire ~300 person class when professor is away.

Shadowing- 60 hrs

I will continue to volunteer in ER, MOW, and kids in future. I will not be able to keep volunteering in clinical simulation center (I'm spending the semester away from campus now).

What does everyone think? Am I doing well, or do I need to add more? Thanks again!

Focus on getting a killer MCAT score. That should be your top priority right now

I'm about halfway done with review. If my diagnostic score before I started has any value, I should do pretty well.
