Hey all,

I'm a molecular and cell bio freshman and had a quick question about taking Pre-Reqs at a Community Colllege. I know some medical schools look down on it, but would they really care if I supplement the class with extra courses in that same field? I'm planning on taking an easy Integrative Biology (part of the gen bio sequence for pre-meds) course at my local CC this summer so i can start with my advanced bio courses.

As long as you show that you have taken several of your pre-reqs and/or other advanced science classes at a university and excelled and you will be fine. Just don't let everything come from a cc. A few won't hurt you.

Also, don't let there be a grade discrepancy between what you earn at the CC (all As) and from the university (Bs or lower!). That would look funny.

I took a majority of my pre-reqs at a CC, and did not seem to run into any problems.
