How badly will this affect me? I won't recieve my scores until October, so that means the schools will not look at my application until that time. Am I in a bad situation?
Well, applying late won't help, but what can you do about it? Our pre-med committee does suggest that you submit your amcas application in as early as possible if taking the August MCAT. They claim that they are still processed in the order received, so at least you will get a jump on your fellow August MCAT takers. So I would submit ASAP and then wait for the score. There are a lot of people taking the August MCAT, so don't fret.
Just make sure you have everything into the schools. Primary application, letters of recommendation and secondary application so that the day they receive your score they can review your package.
Good luck! Plenty of people get in with August MCATs.
