Taking prereqs during application year?

Hello all,

I was wondering would medical schools (DO and MD) generally have a problem with someone taking one of their prerequisites during the application year. In my case I'm taking organic chemistry this fall 06 and I'm applying this fall 06 for the 2007 class?

There was recently a thread about this. If I remember right it's not a problem so long as you have everything completed by the time you matriculate. Maybe you were supposed to indicated something on the AMCAS, I don't remember. In any event you should probably try to search for that thread.

Did you already take the MCAT? Without organic?

No I haven't taken it. But am studying the material on my own for the Aug MCAT and am finding it very straight forward its just a matter of getting the credit for me.

You mentioned that a thread like this was already started. Do you know what I should type in the search engine to find it, b/c I've tried a few thigns and have gotten nothing relavent.

Found it. http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=285642&highlight=matriculate. Turns out it's not as credible as I thought, just a bunch of people agreeing with each other. I'd call the schools you're interested in for a final answer.
