Hey guys!
I need some advice! I already took the mcat three times. first time i got a 14, then a 24 and then another 14=/ Thing is that everytime I took the mcat, i had some sort of family issue going on that I could not mentally dedicate myself to MCATs and the only reason why i was taking it at the time was because I was in an accelerated program which required me to take the mcats at that time and we needed to get a particular score..(which i did not get=/) i will be graduating with my degree in three years. (been taking 21 credits per semester lol) spent a summer volunteering in a hospital in india, have many student leadership positions and working on some research. i will be working this following year trying to volunteer or finding research. This is one thing that I really wanted to do and I know that this time around, i can definitley dedicated myself to MCATs if i allowed myself to be. However, i was wondering with my stats, would there be any point of me taking my MCATs again? I'm not looking for MD schools, I really like the idea of osteopathic medicine, not just saying it, was on an undergraduate campus with a d.o school on campus lol and i'll be applying to just d.o schools. However, i really do not want to take the MCATs again if I know that there is no point of me going through all that emotional and physical stress if no school will take me=/ let me know what you guys think! Thank you!

Trooollololol??? A 14 won't get you anywhere buddy.

I know lol i was just wondering that wether even if i retook the mcat and got a much higher score, would my low scores kill my chances? =/

I don't know if you're serious with this question...but I'll pretend you are. If you're getting a 14 it won't get you anywhere. So if you took the MCAT again and got another 14 it won't hurt you because you already have 2 14's. On the other hand if you got a 40+, then that would help you.

I just want to know if there is any point of me thinking about applying to medical school at all or if i should just have to think of something else realistically=/

Well are you opposed to offshore medical schools? If so then you can retake the MCAT and be in a better position. But as for an American medical school, let's be honest.

The process is just too competitive with too many hoops to jump through. You'll be competing against other people in every aspect of the application process from recommendations, to grades, to ECs. I've know people in the same position as you are, contemplating taking the MCAT for a fourth time. Only difference is, they scored in the high 20's each time.

May you should consider another career field. It's not so bad. It's probably less stressful than being a doctor. Just take a look at the average MCAT scores and particular the statistic on 10th percentile MCAT score admitted into medical school for the previous year. Some schools have a score of 32 as their bottom 10th percentile.

Just something to think about. If it's really your dream you might as well keep trying and keep failing. It might be more fulfilling than just quitting.

You won't get into any osteopathic schools. Do people really think DO is such a joke that it will take anyone that applies? OP, you're barely (outside of the big 4) Caribbean material right now.
