I was talking to one of the vets (UF grad) that I work with and she said that in the UF interviews they will ask you specific questions regarding vaccinations, vaccination schedules, heartworm/flea products and dosages in addition to current events related to veterinary medicine and conditions/diseases. She made it sound as if they were going to ask you questions to trip you up.

Now I am not sure if this is true or not because with vaccination schedules and prevention products, every clinic recommends something different and even vets that I work with at the same clinic have varied recommendations so I am not sure how to respond to these types of questions.

My IS school is UF and I looked at their interview questions on here and it appears that most are more general/behavorial questions as opposed to questions that you either know or dont. I read one interview feedback comment and it appears when she went for interviews that they asked these questions but have moved to more general questions.

I saw based on the UF stats that about half of the IS applicants are offered interviews. My question is should I prepare for interview questions before I know if I have gotten an interview (They let you know two weeks before interviews).

Thank you

It's up to you whether you want to prepare before you get an interview invite. It isn't like doing so or not doing so will have any influence on whether you get invited or not...so uh, not sure what the point of asking other people is. 😉

You also have to remember that adcoms and interview styles and such change from year to year and applicant to applicant, even. My two interviews at UC Davis were only 2 calendar years apart (2012 cycle and 2014 cycle) and the atmosphere, questions, interviewers, etc were completely different - night and day. The only 2 questions that remained constant were the first question ("Tell us what you've been doing since you submitted your application") and the last ("What should we tell the other adcom members about you that will sell you to them" basically). So comments from people who interviewed in a different year are likely going to be of little utility.
