Wondering if anyone has some advice on how to answer this question without getting off topic, giving useless information or stumbling and stuttering.
I've heard of using the 1 minute commercial idea about yourself but I'm not totally sure how to incorporate important pharmacy information during a residency interview...

Thanks!

The 1 min commercial idea isn't a bad way to look at it. You'll want to give highlights about why pharmacy, why residency, and unique experiences that set you apart.

You've attended X college of pharmacy
While there You've made an effort to maximize your experience
You're very focused and maintained a solid gpa (maybe made rho chi)
You've been very involved and held several leadership positions (maybe PLS)
You've supplemented you're rotations and schooling with work experience (retail, hospital, managed care, etc)
You've also been involved in lots of extracurriculars (maybe ACCP clinical pharmacy challenge, etc...)
You feel that you've been very successful because you have... (name a few qualities)

And smile

They'll ask "why residency" and maybe "why pharmacy" at some point so don't include for this answer

I couldn't agree more. You could also talk a lil bit about your world view. I certainly got a positive reaction for that at my interview. It also would not hurt to highlight your strengths.

I can only speak from a job interview aspect. I have your CV, so i know all about the facts (school, GPA, etc). So you can just touch on that as the time line goes. But what I would be more interested is what the story of why they are. Why you went to pharmacy school, how you got that GPA, why retail but not hospital experience. And also what other things you deem important to voluntarily share with me, which provides a sense of what's your priority and motivating factor.

Ditto. They have your CV they know everything worthwhile knowing or else you wouldn't be there, tell them something they don't know
