So, apparently I got a delinquent parking citation notice from the MBTA. And they were like "pay us the five dollar fine or your car gets the boot". So I paid the fine. This is considered a non-criminal civil offense in MA. I know UVM (school I was accepted to) wants to hear about all about traffic violations except for parking citations on the secondary, but I got this way after I filled out that secondary. Should I shoot them an email telling them about this?

I imagine UVM will look at DMV records on the background check since they seem so interested in traffic violations, so I'm leaning towards giving them a heads up about it even if they don't care. Opinions? Suggestions?

Doesn't the bolded kind of answer your question? Definitely don't update them about this.

The answer should be obvious.

Based on the info you gave us, it looks like you don't. But if you think you'll sleep easier every night until you matriculate, you can tell them, and they probably won't care.

I'm getting the feeling the answer is no, then. Especially after reading this per their own website: Parking violations are the only convictions/judgments you are not required to document on the supplemental application.

I can't believe they think I'm smart enough to go to med school.

Just don't finish on my face.

Seems like a silly thing to do - giving them ammo against you that you don't need to disclose. Just have an awesome time in med school! 🙂
