Hey guys...right now I go to a community college and my gpa is little over a 3.0..i know i really messed up but i never knew what I wanted. Then, I got a job as a tech and I love it. Right away I knew I had to be a pharmacist. I just applied to Temple Ambler's Pre Pharmacy program. Do You guys think I will get it. If I do pre pharmacy at temple am I guaranteed a spot for Pharmacy if I keep a certain GPA. I don't have prereqs done yet. I plan to take them at Temple Ambler. Are classes easier at main or Ambler?

thanks in advance

Hey.. Getting into Temple for undergrad does not guarantee you a spot in the Pharmacy program 😡 I thought that was a little misleading. Back in 2004 I applied for "Pre-Pharmacy" got in, and at the orientation they have the Dean of Pharmacy come and tell you to keep your grades up so you'll be competitive with other applicants-- but that there were no guaranteed spots or any preference shown to Temple Pre-Pharm students-- RIP off. So at that point I knew I DID not want to go to Temple for Pharm. I did 1 full year their for pre-req's, the realized I could save alot more money by finishing the rest of my classes at Delaware Tech CC in Wilmington (Where I lived). Another thing that annoyed me is that in the middle of my year at Temple, they changed the requirements from Phys I and II algebra based to Phys I and II calculus based. No big deal, but from talking to the admissions office they really wanted you to retake Physics with Calculus. So I basically told Temple to kick bricks, did the CC applied to 3 or 4 schools back near home, and got accepted into 2. Decided on the school I'm currently at, and I'm happy as feet I didn't bother with Temple. I've worked as a Pharmacy Tech in Philadelphia and I know alot of students from USP and Temple and Rutgers Pharmacy and they all talk about how they are constantly trying to be weeded out. The school I am at currently WANTS its students to succeed and advance. We have a good network here at Wingate University, so I'm happy everyday about my choice. Goodluck to you tho. The Ambler campus is mainly an after hours campus for students who also work. You can take a lot of your science classes there, but you'll find that some are only taught at the main campus. Hope that helps.

WOW!! Now I am scared. I think they should give some preference but I guess not. I hope I can get A's in science classes. What do you recommend that I take science classes at temple or at my community college now? I am so frustrated 🙁
