does anybody know what the # Interviewed/ # accepted are at each of these schools?

and more specifically for Temple, what is the #Interviewed outofstate/ #accepted outofstate ??

because i'm on the CCL list at temple and they say 40% of the class is out-of-state and i believe all out of state people are initially put on the CCL list, so i wanna know what the chances are of being accepted at this point. i'd appreciate any and all info from you connoisseurs, the more specific the better. :)

Good luck, I dropped my acceptance at MCP earlier this year!

Kermit, thanks so much for replying.

i saw that you listed the amount of entrants from out of state at both schools, but how many were accepted?

because i'd hate to think that out of the 1000 interviewed at MCP from out of state, that only 150 are accepted. that's a tiny percentage. is it more like 500 from out of state are accepted? if the MSAR lists that number, i'd love you even more if you posted it. thanks hun. <img border="0" alt="[Lovey]" title="" src="graemlins/lovey.gif" />

I don't know about Temple stats, but remember at the MCP interview there was a slide show with the average stats of the school? You're really gonna love me Cavey, I'm one of those dorks who takes notes!

For the 2000-2001 cycle:
Number of applicants: 7368
Number of interviewees: 1678
Number of acceptances offered: 836
Class size: 237
Avg age: 25
Avg CUM GPA: 3.4
Avg SCI GPA: 3.3
Avg MCAT: 29
Avg Debt: $137,141

Okay, maybe you didn't want to know that last stat, but hey, it was 8:30am, so I was writing down what I could!

<img border="0" alt="[Lovey]" title="" src="graemlins/lovey.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Lovey]" title="" src="graemlins/lovey.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Lovey]" title="" src="graemlins/lovey.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Lovey]" title="" src="graemlins/lovey.gif" /> that means at MCP I have a 50% chance of getting in. I'm VERY happy to hear that. thanks babe. <img border="0" alt="[Lovey]" title="" src="graemlins/lovey.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Lovey]" title="" src="graemlins/lovey.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Lovey]" title="" src="graemlins/lovey.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Lovey]" title="" src="graemlins/lovey.gif" />

Yup, that means you do have a 50% chance. When did you interview?

i was there on feb 9. i liked the programs, the school, and the housing. i hope i fall on the bright side of the 50%.

Hey Caveman, we almost met! I gave up an MCPH interview slot on the 9th to interview on the 7th instead. I really liked the place, much more than I expected to.

Wouldn't it be nice if they did? But, the situation's probably not as bad as it appears because I think schools count the number of applications by counting anyone who listed them on their AMCAS app whether or not the secondary is completed.

Hey SMW. first time we address each other since i first came onto this site. HI! i've missed you.

it would have been nice to have heard that you were there and then we could have described each other to see if we remembered. cool. i don't think i'll be meeting anybody from SDN at interviews since there's so many of us here and i only know of one instance of people recognizing each other. oh well....

MCP is pretty cool. i'm very interested in the PIL program, but the IFM program is also pretty sweet since it's all prepared for you (you don't even need textbooks they say). and the housing rocks. i stayed with a host, and the morning of the interview we walked over about 5 mins before the start. living that close in such comfortable apartments was a real turn-on. i liked it a lot.

you'd be surprised how many people you might meet at interviews who are also on sdn. i have met a couple of sdners at interviews, but all have been after the fact. it seems that people don't like to profess their love for sdn when they are at the actual interviews talking with fellow applicants.

on another note, i am glad to see that both smw and caveman enjoyed their trip to mcphu. i was there in early december and loved it. i have been anxiously awaiting word from them, and may have received it this morning. i called to see if my file had gone to committee and was told that it had, and a letter will be mailed out. she told me that she couldn't give me any info over the phone, but after some gentle prodding i was able to learn from the secretary that "you will be pleased with the contents of the letter". i hope to god that she knew what she was talking about and not just trying to get me off the phone. i guess i won't know for sure until the letter arrives in the next week or so.

SSD, I interviewed Dec 11th and received my letter yesterday and it WAS good news! They didn't tell me that ahead of time though, and I was worried that the letter would be a wait-list etc. I hope you get your good news soon. Maybe we'll be classmates! FYI the letter is in a large 8X12 envelope containing a packet of papers, so you'll know right away.

I think it would be so cool to meet SDNers at interviews. When I go to GW in March, I plan on introducing myself to all like this:

"Hi, I'm Doctor Foxy, nice to meet you" <img border="0" alt="[Laughy]" title="" src="graemlins/laughy.gif" />

p.s. serpiente CONGRATULATIONS!!!! and ssd, most likely, CONGRATS to you too!

Muchas Gracias Dr. Foxy! Voy a ser "Doctora Serpiente!" I should change my name-- serpiente is kinda icky (if you know Spanish), I just like the sound of it.

Anyway...I've never met any SDNers on any of my interviews. I'll always say something like "I get all my information from SDN" and everyone is like "Huh?!".

BTW Dr. Foxy, I know this is off the topic but when did you interview at BU? I was there on Jan 17th (I think, God I can't remember that far back) and I was really hoping to hear something (with two acceptances I shouldn't be greedy, I know but I wanna stay here!) Anyway did you write them a letter expressing you interest after your interview. I didn't write back after I received the acceptable letter--uhh maybe I should like do that....

CONGRATS SERPIENTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i am going to be driving myself crazy over the next week or so until i know for sure. i really liked mcphu when i was there, and i wouldn't be surprised if that's where i end up. i also enjoyed evms and mcv last week, but mcphu is probably still at the top of my list. i'd love to get acceptances at all 4 schools i interviewed at and truly be able to choose, but i would truly be happy at either mcphu, evms, or mcv. beggars can't be choosers.
