Temple...Good, Bad, Ugly?

Just wondering what the consensus was on the Temple U. School of Medicine......does it get metiocre residency placement , or are their graduates very well recieved? If you had a choice between Indiana State and Temple U (both out of state) ; where would you go? As a caucasian female, I heard Temple would be a little scary?

Any opinions, comments on Temple (is it Tier 1,2,3....)

when i interviewed there i didnt like it that much. there are the dumb reasons like the tour guides kept getting lost in the hospital, and there are the more significant ones like a large group of about twenty students kept whispering to not go there as our tour walked by. there are always people who dont like their school, but i thought twenty at once was a bit much 🙂

Temple is definitely in a rough section of Philly and fresh gunshot wounds arrive daily at the university hospital. So I can see how some people would be turned off by these aspects of the school and the area. Fortunately, living in Baltimore, I wouldn't find the transition to Philly to be very difficult.

Also, nobody whispered "don't come here" when I was touring the campus. Not that I would consider that strange though. Come on, don't tell me you've never messed with a tour group while in college. It's a fun activity that never gets old!
