I wonder if anyone got Temple interview? This is my state school, and still waiting. :xf:Any ideal which day of the week (mon, tue, etc..) they often offer for interview date. I need a spot to reserve for Temple. 😴

When I called in late july, they said mid august, now you guys are saying october...Im spending a fortune flying to all these far interviews, these local schools are messing with us lol

i recieved an interview too so theyre on their way 🙂

My info is:

Notified through email
Residency: Florida
AADSAS mail out date: July 5
App complete: Aug 15
GPA: 3.5 overall; 3.25 sci
DAT AA/TS/PAT/Reading: 19/19/18/17
 
no problem,

average gpa around 3.6, AA of a 22

PA resident

and 2nd or 3rd batch, I forget
 
What time did you all get your interview emails?
 
It's a fun interview. If you're not familiar with their interview, search for dentalWork's post about interview day (probably two years old by now). Or PM me. I'm always good for dishing more info than you could ever want.

Method of notification: email (2:45 on 14SEPT2012)
Residency: PA
Application complete date: 6/20
AADSAS mail-out date (to dental schools): 7/06
GPA (science, overall): 3.80, 3.85
DAT (AA/TS/PAT/Reading/any section below a 17): 20/21/19/20; 16 on QR

I also got my e-mail invitation on Friday afternoon.

The admissions office doesn't open til like 8:30AM btw

How hard is it to get an interview from temple with my stats? I'm out of state and batch 1 but have not received invite

temple does not favor in state applicants. it is not a state school, and they dont give preference to PA residents. so it doesnt matter that u are out of state.
ur stats are good, u will probably hear from them soon.

Weird.They say they do cream of the crop as the cycle goes on. So first batch and good stats should be good to go.
 
Never mind I just got my interview today thanks.....I always thought it was a state school... they have lower tuition for PA residents

I would say its a hybrid. they dont give much preference to in state, but there is about a 10k difference between instate and OOS tuition( I believe OOS = 54K for the year, instate is about 44k).

Oh that's so weird. I always thought it was a state school. Do you know why the tuition difference?

I was hoping to hear back as well (2nd batch). Seems like I have hit a brick wall in regards to interview invites.

I'm 2nd batch too but interviews stopped.. hope we'll both hear something good soon!!

Same here! I only have a few schools left that I really want to hear from but haven't (temple being one of them). Maybe they're skipping around cause at least we didn't get a rejection yet so theres still hope for us for the rest of this week!
 
my temple interview is oct 4 at 8am..how do ppl know in what 'batch' they are?

why are they rejecting/ skipping over ppl. Let's hear some theories

I chose temple over a few other private schools in the area.

1) the environment, students seemed happier than the other d-schools, and friendlier.

2) Cost, temple relative to other private schools in the area is cheaper. also, the living costs are also lower in philly.

3) clinical reputation

as of now, I am very happy of the decision I made, Temple has been great.
