I don't think medicine is all about stats. It's getting more and more competitive each year. Also temple is my top choice medical school and was unfortunately rejected from the med school. If doing a postbac for just another year is what it takes, I'll take it.

I'm in the same boat. Temple is first choice as well. I'm surprised the School of Medicine even rejected you to begin with? Are you out of state? And congratulations on your acceptance. Hopefully I'll be there too. But I only have a 3.6 and no MCAT lol

Yeah my GPAs are a bit lower, but I also have a lot of clinical and research experience and am completing an honors thesis in neuroscience (my defense is this Tuesday, actually!). I also have a low 30s MCAT so I'm really hoping I get this because I also wouldn't have to worry about taking the MCAT while in the program!

My upward trend is also insane, which is great. But freshman year killed me and is still bringing me down. Really hoping they see past that. So hard to have hope with all of this waiting!

I'm the same! I did really well with the exception of my first year. Hopefully adcom will recognize the upward trend and understand freshman year grades were more about immaturity than lack of competency or commitment. Just graduated in Neuro as well. Good luck on your thesis.

I hope we hear back about interviews soon..

Thank you so much! I'm pretty nervous for the defense but at this point I'm kind of just ready to be done also... haha I agree though, an interview invite would be like an early graduation gift!!!

Yeah for sure. 3.9 gpa low 30's mcat.
I hope you don't mind my asking, but a 3.9 GPA and low 30's MCAT sounds like you are competitive for med school without the post bac. So, why the post bac? Does it have to do with your resume/experience, or did you just want a sure thing? And, congrats for getting accepted!!

I don't mind at all, its a valid question. As i said in a previous post, I applied to med school this cycle and was rejected from Temple med (Temple is my top choice for med school). So attending this postbac would be the same as reapplying and getting in the following year. That being said, being accepted into a medical school is much bigger than a numbers game. Why I was rejected to the med school - your guess is as good as mine. Nevertheless, I am really excited for this program and excited to be an Owl. For those currently waiting for interviews/acceptances, I think Temple is very good at evaluating applicants in a holistic manner. During my interview, my interviewers seemed to be more interested in knowing me as a person than an applicant - its not all about the numbers.

For any of you who interviewed and are still waiting to hear, I just called and was told that decisions would come out by the end of the week 🙂

Grace said they were meeting this Friday to discuss applications, so I thought it would be another week at least.

Gahh if they're still deliberating on those interview decisions who KNOWS how long it will be till the next interview invites!!! :bigtears: I'll just keep updating them on the happenings in my life I guess. Successfully defended my honors thesis today! woot woot!

You'll probably hear back before I will .. my app wasn't complete until the beginning of April 🙁 .. I'm assuming most of the people who got invitations for Apr's interview had their apps completed Dec/Jan?

How can we update them? Is there an option to upload an update letter or is it something we just email?

I just emailed them. Not really expecting a reply but at least bringing it to someone's attention (hopefully).

I'm in the same boat. I just got complete not too long ago. I'm thinking I won't hear back till end of June/early July. I wonder if you can defer your enrollment by a year

So if/when interview invites come out, what did those of you who successfully interviewed wear? I usually do business casual for interviews, but I've only done job interviews nothing academic. Did you go full-on suit like for med school?

Thank you so much! Probably time for me to buy a suit anyway for med school interviews if I don't get invited to the ACMS program.

I have been waiting since January without a yes or no. But I think I got pass that anxiousness and come to terms, lol.

She said decisions about people who interviewed would be sent out Friday, so most likely we'll get them in the mail next week.

Emailed them about next set interviews. The next one is at the end of May and they will send out invites sometime within the next two weeks.

Congrats! May I ask when you completed your application? 🙂
Yeah! It was completed early February. Took a while for my letters of recommendation to get in - I submitted in December but the letters took so long I was completed in February.

So I guess the next wave of interviews were already sent out. :boom:

Perfect, thanks! I'm just trying to get a gauge as to how this process works. My application was complete in early March, so I guess if I don't get an invite for the next wave of interviews, I'm out lol. Congratulations again! That's fantastic!

Thank you so much! I'm hoping for the best at the interview but regardless it's such an honor to be invited.

Good luck to you though. I think it does have to do with when you finished. But I could have been one of the first ones invited this round.

So I wouldn't get too discouraged. Have a couple of weeks.

Don't get discouraged yet. I think there will be a few more interview rounds. I was completed in March too.

Just don't hold your breath for a response after your interview. Almost one month has passed for me!

So crazy! Hopefully you'll hear back soon. That would be SO frustrating. Do you love far from Philadelphia? Maybe mail is also slowing yours down a bit.

I just called and they said decisions will be coming out today or Monday. When I asked if they were going to be mailed, he put me on hold and when he came back he said "keep checking your email and mail." Soooo we could get them today? By email? That would be nice.

I'm still surprised I never got an email. I remember them telling us at the interview day that they'd send both an email and a letter... Maybe they're going to email everyone once they've reviewed all of the interviewees? Hope you hear back today!

I was complete mid March so I think it'll be a while for me 🙁 Can I ask what specific date in May your interview is?

How did your invite come? Did it come by e-mail or snail mail? I have been completed since January 28th. I want to know something. Good God, I am tired of waiting.
I got a phone call then an email. Wasn't expecting the call from what I've seen on here, so I was pleasantly surprised! Seems like interview invites are email and acceptances/rejections are snail mail.

I don't know about you guys, but if I don't get invite in the next few weeks, I am going to assume I got rejected. In the previous years it seems like they didn't really hand out the official rejections letters til the very end.

Yeah. So frustrating. It would be better to just know so then you could focus on other programs. :[
