I don't think it's too late to apply. I sent my application and materials in in the beginning of March and am still waiting for my LORs to be received. I wouldn't say it's exactly cut-throat like MD applications. However, I do feel like applying early will help in the case of getting an early interview. But the due date is June and interviews go through mid July. I wouldn't worry too much. Just send your application as soon as you can. I also decided to mail everything to TUSM because the website is too wacky. (Randomly The drop down for Letters isn't there anymore so I now I asked my writers to mail my LOR to the school instead)

Sweet I will do that what threw me off was it says it takes 10 business days to process letters if we mail them compared to 2 business days if we electronically send it. Thanks for the help.

Wow, I really feel for you guys. Mailbox is full and there's no way to reach them as they don't pick up the phone.

Well, basically it's impossible to call them.

Ugh, yeah. It's so frustrating. In mid-March they emailed me back on the same day I emailed them, but when I called before sending the email the voicemail box was full and nobody answered.

Two weeks ago I called and no one answered but was able to leave a message. Not returned. Sent two emails within three days before calling, neither returned.

Tried calling yesterday - voicemail box full, no one answered. Then sent an email Tuesday. Not returned yet...

I get you're busy, but this is so frustrating.

Yeah. That website is too funky. I know that they suggest other sites for submission like interfolio but I'm not sure how that works either? I figured Id just ask them to mail it so I don't pester them too much.

Yeah this application is the most unorganized process I've applied to. They are probably swamped with preparing for the BMCS students. I'll keep an eye on my application to see if they receive my letters but of nothing shows up by may I'm walking into their office and hand delivering it.

Keep trying to call them if you don't get through and try calling at different times of the day. Once I called and it went straight to voicemail, so I hung up and called right back and someone picked up. She said she didn't have access to the database and transferred me to admissions and I left a message. No one ever returned my call. I called back the next day at around 2pm, and spoke to a different lady who verified that they got everything and sent me the complete email right away!

Just got an email back from Grace. The decisions will come early next week. She said "we are processing now," but I'm not really sure what that means.

Thanks for posting this. I think taking two weeks to make a decision is more than reasonable by anyone's standards. I just wish they hadn't put the expectation of hearing back so soon. Sounded a little too good to be true.

Hey if one is using LORs from individual writers it has to be from two from academics and one from a volunteering position? Or can it be 3 academic references?

I did two science professors (1 I had done research with too) and my academic advisor. The third person has to be someone other than one of your science professors... I believe. Honestly I chose the three people that could best comment on my aspirations and work ethic

so from what i know (as of tuesday, 9 individuals have been accepted for acms), and grace is planning to keep the entering class 35.

Oh man that's smaller than last year's #s. Have all the acceptances for the first round interviews been sent out?

Thanks for the update @sillyome

She said decisions would come next week. 🙁 But yes, she said 35 people in the interview.

I highly doubt it. Interview/Acceptance ratio is much higher than 9/23.

How many were at the first round interview?
I think I counted 23 people. It was a lot of people, surprisingly. But don't give up. Some of them will get acceptances from med schools and pass on the offer.

This process is so strange. If all 23 people get accepted that only would leave 12 spots. Womp lol but given not everyone might accept. (Out of curiosity, is there a deadline to accept/deny there offer of admissions?)

Look, I'm just speculating. For all you know, nine people is the amount that they will accept out of the 23 ish people. Obviously, I really hope that's not the case.

hi all. been lurking on this thread for a while now and also interviewed for the acms program on april 9th. just logging in to update everyone - i got a letter from temple today with my portal information and my TUid. it doens't explicitly say that i've been accepted to the program, but it does say "welcome to temple" so i'm assuming this means i got in and that decisions have already been made. best of luck to everyone!

Congrats!! Somewhat anti climatic without a formal acceptance letter

Congratulations! Good way to start the weekend. If you don't mind me asking but 1. Did you apply to med school / TUSM this past cycle 2. What were your stats? 3. Did you take the MCATs

I hate asking because I feel rude, but I'm curious to if I have a chance at this program. Thanks and congrats again!!!!

Congrats! I got the same letter! Just set up an account and part of that seems to be access to a Temple email account. Something I'm hoping they wouldn't give us unless we did get in 🙂

Physical letter

Hey! First of all, congrats on the acceptance! Second, I was just wondering what the letter said exactly. Is there direct mention of the postbac program or is it pretty general with instructions for setting up your tuportal information? you can PM me if that is better!

I highly doubt it. Interview/Acceptance ratio is much higher than 9/23.

There were only 20 ACMS students at the interview, the rest were BCMS. 9:20 seems like an accurate ratio since they still have 4 interview dates

I'm not sure if they use all four dates if the class gets filled early.

The letter is from computer services and doesn't say anything about the postbac program. It just contains instructions to set up a Temple account. Super general. I actually haven't shared any news with family or friends because I haven't received anything official.

You're in. Though, it seems odd that you wouldn't get an email or something. Maybe it'll come in Mon-Tues.

Okay, makes sense. and yes you're definitely in! Welcome to temple! I'm a temple undergrad and attended the april 9th interview date, so I was wondering whether, if accepted, I should have gotten the same letter or not since I already have a TUid and portal account lol.

haha true, let's hope there's a higher ratio. Everyone at the interview seemed very friendly and a great candidate for this program, it would be great if we all get accepted

I'd guess that computer services didn't realize they weren't sending out the actual acceptances yet... And yeah, that was the entire purpose of the letter, so I don't see why you would get one if you already have a TUid. I should also mention that I live in PA and got the letter on Saturday, so if you live in more distant states, I wouldn't read into not having received one yet.

I feel the exact same way. Everyone I talked to seemed great.

I'm a current ACMSer. We're done for the year (ACMS program), and I spoke with Kathy. Good Luck!

So there are no more upcoming interviews? I just got the complete email last week.

What do you mean? So only nine people will be accepted out of the people interviewed?

Hey guys, I just received the "Welcome to Temple" snail mail from the computer services as well. I really hope this isn't a huge tease and that it does, in fact, mean that we are accepted. The letter is pretty general.

@sillyome what does done for the year mean? is adcom no longer interviewing people or no longer taking applications?

Hi, and thanks for the info. I am still waiting for the next round of interviews hoping to hear. How do you know that 9 people were accepted out of the first round, if you don't mind me asking? From the threads over the last two years, it seems as if an interview usually translates to an acceptance. If there were 20 interviewees, that appears to have changed.....any light you can shed would be helpful, thanks!

Just called and decisions will hopefully be released this week..
