Email Grace and ask her. She's nice. Still nothing on my end. I guess next week we'll have answers but I feel like I've been saying that forever.

I got a phone call then an email. Wasn't expecting the call from what I've seen on here, so I was pleasantly surprised! Seems like interview invites are email and acceptances/rejections are snail mail.
Congratulations! I was complete in February, and I'm still waiting. Trying not to get too discouraged. Really surprised that they called you. What is the date of your interview? And good luck!

I really am trying to be patient. I was trying to wait after graduation. Graduation is May 18. I figure by then I should hear since the interview are at the end of May. If I am not in, I would just like to know instead of waiting until July for a no. That will be six months.

She probably didn't get an interview. She keeps dodging the question.

Really? Sounds like someone's jealous to me.

It's May 21 for anyone wondering.
Congrats @trishaaah I'm assuming then that all May interviews have been sent out. Maybe I'll have better luck next month. Good luck!

Congrats trishaaah. I'm thinking invites might be still going out and I can't confirm that. It's only been last week and today is Monday so more might go out this week. I emailed Dr. Hershman. I am hoping she will tell me if I'm rejected instead of waiting.

Good luck! I was definitely feeling that way too so you never know. But knowing one way or the other would be best.

I was completed January 30th similar to DOA45, and it seems like looking into past posts that you did end up emailing the post bacc program trishaah? I'm debating whether or not to email her. I'm sure they are super busy and I don't want to be too big of a nuissance, but I will if no one else has recently.

I did email them. I emailed them a couple of times trying to get any type of update on my application status, since no one would ever get back to me or answer the phone. I never received a reply, however, so I'm not sure if anyone on the admissions committee saw them. I would assume probably the people at the front desk decided they were rather unimportant. I also felt that way, didn't want to be a pain, so I didn't send too many and when I did they were spaced out time-wise.

I feel the same way. If you do email them, what exactly will you say? And, does anyone have a sense if it's inappropriate to email the program director directly? I would love to express my continued interest......it's so hard to wait.....also, anyone else on this thread besides Trishaaah get an invite for May 21?

Dear Grace Hershman,
Hello, I am an ACMS applicant. I have been complete since January 28th. I know that the admissions committee takes a holistic review of the application and it takes longer for the applications to be reviewed. I was wondering when will people be notified of a decision whether a rejection or interview? Are rejections sent out after the interviews are done or throughout the process. Thank you.

I don't think you can straight ask if you are rejected. I wanted to.
Hahaha, yeah, I don't think I will straight-out ask if I was rejected. If it makes you feel any better, DOA45, it does appear that there are going to be at least two more interview dates (based on past years posts) after the May 21st one. I mean, let's be honest, there is about a 5% admit rate to this program, so I am guessing there are many very well qualified candidates who don't get in. Which of course doesn't make me feel any less anxious.

If it really is the case that only 9 acceptances were offered to my interview group, then I'm pretty sure they'll have to extend interviews even into July!

Yeah. I really hope that's not the case! Such a low acceptance rate from an interview it's scary... I'd be really surprised. But I also don't think everyone was accepted.

hey guys, i was complete sometime early-mid march so i'm still waiting also. i was probably going to call tomorrow or wednesday and see whats up with sending out invites for may so ill let you know what they say, ive had some luck in the past getting through to them on the phone

I really think it's still possible they accepted everyone (or almost everyone). Someone said they were meeting to discuss applicants last Friday which to me says they didn't get through all of the people who were at the interview when they met the first time (they said there would be a meeting the Friday of the interview).

true. Maybe they've been super busy with bcms stuff

I've been in contact with admissions quite a few times the past week. The guy said they are carefully reviewing each application holistically and there are plenty of spots open in the class - so don't panic. He said they will be accepting between 35-40 people.

I have a lot of friends in TUSM now and they all said that the adcom does take a while, especially with the ACMS/BCMS program. you either have to keep emailing/calling or be patient. So anyone waiting for interview invites - don't worry! The committee is probably preparing for the BCMS orientation and trying to keep up with the new ACMS apps they're receiving. It is a postbacc program so most won't hear back until June/July, when regular med school admissions are completely set. I don't know if they accept everyone they interview, but the general consensus with TUSM is that you must really have to say something out of line to be rejected because of the interview alone.

I also got in touch with the office today, and the April 9 interviewees who haven't heard back yet - you'll be getting either a letter or email soon since they send out the letters at different times for the applicants (not sure why they don't send it out in bulk haha). And those waiting for a May interview invite - a girl at my interview was called less than a week before the date and invited; I assume the same may have happened with others. So it's safe to assume not all May 21 interview slots have been filled 🙂

So awesome. I think you definitely put a lot of the panic to rest here. Really, I feel that it's all out of our hands once we've submitted. Just try to keep them updated if anything important changes in your life. It's so hard to do that, though, put it all aside... Right now I'm studying for finals so can't worry about it too much, so that's the silver lining with finals for me. I have an interview and am SO excited and honored, but really need to prepare and focus on that, and I'm still really worried that even though I have an interview I may not get in.

I think we all just need to take a breath and trust everything in the admissions committee's hands.

Looks like they may accept more than the 35 limit Grace mentioned during the interview - that's great!

Is there a facebook site for the accepted students already? Would be really helpful to see how many students are accepted/plan on attending.

Not that I have been able to find, but I didn't go to the first interview.

Ugh I really want to know how many were accepted from the first interview. I know it's been said before in past years that you have a super high chance of getting accepted if you interview, but I keep thinking "what if?"

I'm pretty sure there isn't a facebook group yet. I know that Temple didn't create one for the accepted med students this year or for the ACMS students last year, so I was hoping to get one started. If anyone else who's accepted wants to set one up let me know!

Does anyone know if there are more invites left for the interview on the 21st? My guess is at this point they've sent them out already.

I wouldn't worry about that too much! I'm pretty sure the AdCom would not fill up the entire class based on two interview dates. Which, unfortunately, may mean that there is a lower accepted/interviewed ratio. But the fact of the matter is, they saw your application, they liked what they saw, and they want to see if you are the person that you say you are in your application. It's a very low-stress environment.

I don't usually post anything on SDN (just made an account lol), but it seems like it would help everyone if an ACMS facebook page was made. I've tried making a group, but it won't let me unless I add a member to begin with. If you were accepted, please PM me so we can get one started. Thanks 🙂

Very good point. I just need to stop stressing and focus on preparing and doing my best in the interview! Thank you. I kind of was hoping people would be like "we all got in!!!" to feel a little better, but I just need to focus on making sure my interview is the best it can be.

Just block SDN. All it will do is stress you out. haha. That could still be the case.

But if they all got in, how will you? 🙂 Gl with your interview let us know how it went.

haha seriously though... I had to stop coming on here like a month before my MCAT

Cmon accepted people, join the group!

The only way you can tell is by looking at the Facebook. 10/20 seems quite low. :/

It is definitely possible that some people that got accepted don't have Facebook/know about the group. Maybe it's closer to 15? Wishful thinking.

They're just there to give us helpful information (housing, resources, etc.) and answer any questions we may have.
That's awesome! That will be so helpful. I can't believe the interview is in almost a week... Need to keep preparing!

Is anyone from the april 9 interview here who STILL hasn't heard back yet? I'm getting a little concerned! Even if it's a rejection, I would like to get some sort of update 🙁

The interview is so chill, just be sure to know your resume well because my interviewer pretty much just asked me what my extra currics were and which one had the biggest impact on me - so everything I had already written about on my AMCAS/postbacc app. Other than that, don't worry and good luck!!! I hope the adcom gets back to you guys in a much more structured manner after your interview lol
