Has anyone ever heard of this company? I came across it on SDN's main website...

www.mcatvr.com

Any reviews would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Never heard of the company... but I read through the main page article and took a quick look at their website and it seems that they offer classes for numerous exams... so it would have to be atleast somewhat respectable? I am also quite interested in whether anyone has any input and/or opinion of 'em.

Did a quick google search ... and Dr Karen whom teaches the MCAT course also joined the GMAT forum at http://www.beatthegmat.com/welcome-test-prep-new-york-t22049.html
if you click on her name... you can see all the responses to verbal questions she gives... but this begs the question of whether you would see an improvement in verbal reasoning...

What do you guys think?

Their website offers the coarsebook that they use for the verbal class for $120, which is still really expansive. However, I really like the article they wrote for SDN so I think that I might check it out.

That is the link to the article. Do not buy the book. It was the biggest waste of money I've ever spent. All of their verbal reasoning questions are open ended and don't even have answers. ******ED!

exactly. This was perhaps one of the most frustrating parts of the course. You try and check your work and reasoning only to find that you really cant.....

i have never felt so scammed after taking the course from them...

pm me if you want more details

I heard about TPNY’s verbal reasoning course from our pre-health advisor at Temple University and found the course to be exactly what I needed. The instructor who I took the course with (Dr. van Hoek) helped us compile a tool box of skills so that we could go through the essays and questions more easily. I was also absent a couple of times, and was able to go through the recorded class I had missed. I earned a 4 point score improvement so I definitely recommend it, especially if your MCAT Verbal is not where it needs to be.
