Hi all,

I have a cGPA of 3.88, a sGPA of 3.83.
My MCAT score was a 513 (128, 132,129,124).

I currently have 15 hours of shadowing in an ER, with hoping to have near 50 by time apps open. I have no clinical volunteer experience, but have had over 100 hours of volunteering in a church since I started at my uni. I come from a smaller, private university.

I'm a Texas resident applying to all TMDSAS and a few AAMC schools.

So, that being said, WAMC?

Great stats, congrats. Push hard to get in as much clinical experience and shadowing as possible before applying. I recommend committing to one clinical volunteer position and one non-clinical position for the duration of the cycle so you can update schools with these experiences during interview and most importantly show that you can stay committed to them. Hospice is a good option (in my case the docs noticed me volunteering my time and offered shadowing experiences). Habitat for humanity or your humane society if you have a passion for animals are great for the non-clinical side. Apply to a few DO just incase, TCOM would be a great safety school and cheap tuition. Good luck!

Edit: if you are in north Texas, you can look into the SERV program at presby. I was able to amass 100 hours in the ER and 70 shadowing hours in 11 specialties in 2 and a half months during the summer session something like this could really help you with a UTSW or Baylor.

Good stats aren't going to be enough to get you in. You have the equivalent of not even the bare minimum of ecs and experiences. I'd strongly recommend a gap year, maybe even two, to build a solid resume for admission. I'd say you're uncompetitive for do and md at this point.
