Can some of the girls please describe the shoes they're wearing to interviews/have seen at interviews? I've recently been informed that pointed pumps aren't professional, and am at a loss as to how to go otherwise.... Further, UTMB said bring a pair of comfortable shoes for the tour - what would those look like and what would you do with them in the mean time?
Also, my suit is a skirt - do I need to wear hose? Let me know what you guys think!

I am interviewing in galveston in a couple of weeks and I imagine it will be sweltering hot, but I am planning to wear a black skirt suit, and shoes with ~1.5 inch heels. I don't know about hose either but (as of now) I am planning on wearing them.

Edit: Here are the shoes I am wearing (except mine are just plain black-- no bows or crazy embroidery)

Especially for UTMB interviews, wear comfortable shoes. I had one interview in the primary care building (about a mile away from main building). In a suit, I was sweating pretty bad when I finally got there.

i just got an email interview invite from UTSW for September 9th. I was processed/forwarded to schools on 8/02. i haven't even sent in the secondary or my LORs. maybe they're on my nuts. 😀

UTSW gives out quick number invites to the higher numbers people.

i had an interview in the primary care pavilion at UTMB also.. what a walk!! and it was sooo hot...

To all the girls...
I wore black pumps and brought ballet slippers to change into for the tours. I simply stored whichever shoe I wasn't wearing in my purse. I highly recommend this for the girls since many of the tours are long and require a lot of walking! Hope this helps!

Yeah I'm not liking too much how UTSW is doing it this year.

I think it gives a lot of false hope, but isn't that how they did it last year? Maybe I'm wrong...

Approximately how long does it take TCOM to contact you after it says online that you've been selected for an interview? My status changed last Thurs so I thought I would have heard from them by now. I hope they haven't forgotten... 🙁

I am not quite sure how long, but it is not that long...I would try calling. I missed their call and the message said to call them and ask for Katherine...pm me if you would like the phone number!
 
Kind of off-topic, but does anyone know the earliest that schools will contact you about acceptances?

November 15th is when rolling starts for instaters.

BTW you were proccessed one day before me so I guess I'll be looking at your interview invites to know roughly when to expect them so don't quit posting them.

I think that's against TMDSAS rules, but I might be wrong.
 
woohoo, just scored an interview with UTHSCSA! I'm excited. I interviewed with TCOM a few weeks ago so I'm excited to land another interview. Just sharing my excitement. 🙂
 
For those who have had interviews so far, I was wondering if ya'll could share what a typical day is at each school. For instance, I know UTMB is on the "half day, one class at a time" schedule. How do the others schools compare? Also, how much do you think this would influence your decision to attend a school / is it that big of a perk to only have class till noon???

Congrats!!!

How long did it take TMDSAS to send your LOR packet to TCOM. Mine was at TMDSAS on 7/26 but TCOm has yet to recieve it.

Do you know how long between TMDSAS getting them... and sending them to TCOM?
 
maybe i got called tuesday and then i got an email so it was an exciting day to say the least not to long from what i hear they are being pretty aggresive although they seem to only interview two handfuls at a time

Congratulations! Was it email or snail mail (People in this thread have reported receiving both types of invites first, so I am curious about how they are doing them now.)

TMDSAS sent on 6/28 and secondary sent on 7/10

I love all the schools, but only UTSW and TCOM love me back.

Yeah, whassup with that? Still no love for me from them either.

EDIT: It's not like we don't have the stats, because I think UT-SA was one of the schools where my GPA actually was >= their average matriculant GPA, and both of our MCAT scores blow away their average MCAT score. I was going to guess that they were biased against high MCAT scores 🙂 but Pemberly has an interview there, so that can't be it.
 
I am loved by UTSA and UTMB.... but nobody else.... 🙁

My guess.... schools are just cautious in love... but they will come around 🙂
 
I was complete on 7/5, I don't know what took them so long 😉

I am so old army that I remember what it was like to drink in the chicken my freshman year while I was stil 17, then walk off of the back porch into a big field of mud where everyone parked. And I have been to bonfire and.... damn I am old!
 
As a current aggie, I'd love some love from my ugrad. Of course, I'd love to get an invite ANYWHERE!!!! Where are you TX schools?????
 
dont worry to much you guys things will start pretty soon here as schools begin to settle in themselves so be patient you will get what you want

Hello all, quick opinion question: I'm a TX resident but decided to venture to VA for undergrad. Do you think TX schools view going to undergrad in a different state in a negative light? Just curious b/c in both my interviews at UTMB, their first question was "So, do you think you want to come back to TX?" I'm also simply fishing for reasons why I haven't heard from other TX schools when all of my forms, etc were submitted before July!!
 
I finally heard from TCOM, I got an interview for the 22nd. I think I'm going to have to reschedule this.

i was thinking the same thing. i haven't had any interviews yet, but i don't think it will have a negative impact on their decisions. i was born and raised in TX, and i've only gone to college in florida for 3 years. since i'm pretty sure i'm gonna be asked "why did you go to your specific undergrad?", i'm gonna try to spin it and say that i was looking to experience living in another location before coming back to the great state of TX for medschool, or some other BS along those lines. 😀

It won't be looked down upon. They are just trying to get to know you.
 
For all of the people who have interviewed at UTH, did you send a digital passport-type photo in your confirmation email? I sent my confirmation email a long time ago without the photo and they didn't say anything.
