i know in light of all the acceptances, this will mean next to nothing, but......

i will be interviewing at A&M dec14!!!! i had all but lost hope, then i emailed filo because he'd advised me last year. then he emailed me back telling me i will be contacted for an interview dec14. i'd all but forgotten how this feels.

That is great news. I think about your situation often, and I believe that there are big plans for you in the future. I believe there is a reson for everything, sometimes it just takes a long time to find the reason.:luck: :luck: :luck:

One of our class admissions rep said they would have two mailing one this week and one next. Don't know when but, last year they were mailed the day before the match.

hey this is awesome. I think we interviewed there together last year? good luck, I'm sure you'll do great. They must've asked you back for a reason.

Yeah, but based upon the conclusions you are drawing about UTSA on 111006, you would think that the 100406 group would have acceptances to TAMU. All of our people, except one that had an interview on the 5th of October (Flabs) all had interviews at TAMU. So that too seems to be something in common. However, that did not mean we all got acceptances.

I am curious, Flabs, when did you interview at San Antonio?

Wow, that is awesome! Congrats! I was really wondering if there was still hope for interviews, and I'm glad to know that there is. I hope there's still some hope for me.
 
MS4 from UTMB just called to make sure I had gotten the email!! very nice of them...
 
Say any word on scholarships? I'm guessing this may come in snail mail?

Just curious, mine didn't mention scholarships.
 
Only some UT Houston emails included scholly info.

When the UTMB MS2 called me, she said that a large percentage of accepted students get scholarships, and to look out for info coming snail mail.
 
my LMFU changed to 111506, thats weird. anyone else have this?
 
huh, and no one with 11/15/06? oh well, probably means nothing.
 
I interviewed at UTSA on 8/21 - a full 6 weeks before my 10/4 update. I also checked when I recieved my TAMU invite (~9/27) from filo. So maybe 10/4 is just a "slow" update of my invite to interview at TAMU on 10/5 or......it means something happened with UTSA. Personally, I'm trying not to get myself too psyched about it and am preparing for a long wait till the match.

From the email: "In addition, we are pleased to inform you that you have been selected as the recipient of a scholarship. The details of this award will be sent to you via mail with your paper documents."

It was the 2nd paragraph into the email.
 
Is it too late to expect interview invites? I was verified at the end of August and LOR were uploaded to TMDSAS during the second week of October, right before the August MCATers received their scores. I just think its a little weird that I've gotten interview invites from several schools (including EVMS as an OOS applicant), but nothing from any of my state schools. I was really hoping to get back to TX after spending the last 7 years away...

If you go to the TMDSAS website and check your application status, you'll find it. Click on the link that says "Check applicant profile" once you are logged in.

So I wonder how this Rolling Admissions Process is going to continue through December.....will schools send out another wave or acceptances in the coming weeks?.....is this just about it until February? It's funny to me how sketchy this whole process was. I do feel lucky to get in now, it would have been so much different to have to wait until next semester.

This totally blew my mind, but I had a friend interview at UTMB last week and she found out her acceptance today! She is a resident with a high gpa, 30 ish MCAT, but AMAZING extracurriculars.

So apparently they're giving out acceptances at random and not necessarily only to those that they interviewed in August.

Congrats to all who got in today (especially prospective UTHers)! For those who didn't, don't fret: there's still much time in this new, super-crazy application process.

If anyone is deliberating between UTH and another school, PM me and I'll be happy to answer questions. Otherwise, I'll occasionally peruse this thread as time permits. (Read: with third block exams and finals coming up, not much at all.)
 
What's the deal with UTSW? It seems like they're going to be mailing acceptances because no one on this forum received any word (phone call or e-mail) from them today.

Can an OOS applicant who got into UTSW reveal how he/she heard about their acceptance? Thank you
 
did anyone receive a call from utmb?

i interviewed with them last week and they called my parents at my home in houston this morning. the person said she wanted to ask me some questions. they didn't tell them much more except that i should call back tomorrow.

this worries me.
 
i haven't gotten any interview invites...yet. not too hopeful.🙁

i know some schools interview til jan/feb. should i call or email?

hahah yea. i understand how you feel completely. it's funny because today i emailed filo seeking advice for applying next year (i thought it was the end), and he emailed me back later today saying i have an interview for dec14, although i'll get official notice of it later. so there's still some time!

yea we did interview together last year. and i hope things go well this time around, even though filo said that i interviewed well. maybe my being in the postbac program will help.

thanks kemper. actually yesterday was one of the worst days ever for me, stressing out about practically everything in the world. and today, it completely turned around. so maybe i'll be successful this year.

As our first day of open rolling admissions comes to a close, I would like to take a moment to reflect on our state, which is bountiful with the med schools, and generous with her admissions.

If only my fiance... who is also applying to medical school... could get into the same school that would be amazing!

I thought the stress of getting in would be done with after holding an acceptance in hand, but it really just gets worse for me. Attending medical school across the country from one another would not be easy after six years together!

By the way... he is OOS!!!!!!!!!!! 🙁

Based on reading the rest of this thread - I can surmise that the call is probably to make sure you got the email accepting you and see if you have questions. No need to be worried. 🙂

I'm surprised you didn't mention donating.
 
Does anyone know if each school (espectially UTH) will be gradually giving acceptances in the next several days..or did they send them all together yesterday?

Nope, you want to see my official acceptances thread. I'm borderline spamming that donation message, so I try to keep it just on that thread so I don't get banned or sin binned or other punishment.
