I believe that after one is accepted into medical school one should:

Thank their higher power

Thank family members, significant others, that have helped (money,love,patience,.......

Thank professors that have made a difference in their studies, especially the ones' that wrote LOR's

Donate money to SDN.......its only $20/yr. that's a bargain for all they do.👍 👍 👍

If the recent LMFU is an acceptance than it is either from Tech or UTSA. Has anyone else with an LMFU of 11/16 interviewed at Tech or UTSA?

Could be UTSW, as well. Didn't someone say that UTSW was snail mailing their acceptances out today? So, maybe they sent the list to TMDSAS today, as well.

Alas, mu LMFU is still at 10/16/06. Come visit me on the pre-allo board next year.
 
I'm just waiting on UTSW and/or Baylor. If those two don't show me any love, I'll be totally happy going to UT-Houston.
 
Mine is also 11/16 (yesterday it was 11/15)
I interviewed at Tech and they are the only ones I havent heard from that I went on an interview.
 
It wasn't UTSW for me. I didn't interview there.

Cheer up bro, it might just be an update to show that we received acceptances. For how much time you spend on this board, if you don't get into med school you could always become a pre-med consultant.

Not that I'm insinuating, of course, that you won't get in...

Because you most certainly will.

Congrats on the UTSW acceptances guys!

If anyone has received anything by mail, is there a form included to decline the acceptance so that we can open up spots for others?
 
Anyone know if Tech is snail mailing or emailing?

With all these acceptances coming someone should start a thread for those turning down TX acceptances....

If you have copious amounts of spare time, go back through this thread and look at my posts. It is almost ALWAYS the case that when I got really whiny, an interview came shortly thereafter. I guess it works for acceptances too! 🙂

I'm not getting any acceptances. I am going to have to reapply. I am going to be stuck in the pre-allo forum for at least another year, probably by myself. Life sucks.....

So, if I got into a school already in TX, and I have nearly decided on going there, can I cancel an upcoming interview that I have already confirmed??? Any thoughts on this etiquette? Thanks!

Of course. Medical schools would rather have an applicant cancel an interview than interview someone who has no intention of attending their school.

I think you should call the admissions office and say thank you for the opportunity but you have decided to attend another school. I really don't think admissions offices feel that it is rude... it's part of the admissions process and you need not spend $$ and time travelling.... and perhaps someone else will be so lucky to get an interview this late.

Yes you can cancel it, Email, phone call, written letter, anything will do I bet.
 
I didn't get anything from UTSW =(

Did anyone else other than Aggie and Jota get into UTSW? It's my 2nd top choice and I'd really like an acceptance from them.

Apparently, good things can happen even if your LMFU didn't change today.

Just curious, is your first choice Baylor?
 
Not many have mentioned the correlation between interview date and acceptances. I got on the ball pretty late and didn't start interviews until very late September (UTSW & San Antonio) and early November (UTH). I have received nothing in the mail/email yet, but my LMFU went from 110306 to 111606 today.
I'm hoping that when they get around to looking at our interview data, then they will start another wave of acceptances.
Any ideas guys? Excluding UTMB, anyone receive acceptances from a late interview? I'm getting a little nervous!

My LMFU changed to 11/16 too. The only interview that I have not heard from and have in common with you is UTSA. :luck: :luck:
 
I also got the email from UTSW! I interviewed on Aug 19, and my LMFU is still 9/14/06.

It might be SA, I have 111606..........out of all the interviews I felt most certain about SA
 
So has ANYONE else heard from UTSA???
