Anyone know how many people each TX school interviews and how many they actually accept? I'm trying to figure out what my chances are at acceptance....

Interviews and Matriculants are in the MSAR. Acceptances are available at the US News (pay) site. Sorry, I don't remember them offhand, but I'm sure they have been posted before on SDN somewhere. For Baylor and UTSW, the number of acceptances is approximately 50% of the number of interviewees. For the other TX schools, it's more like 1/3 of the number of interviewees. No, I don't have it backwards.
 
UTH I know interviews until January 5th...I had mine this past Friday December 1st and I fell in love! The TMC is awesome! The curriculum you just have to come to terms with...I would rather go to a school that works you out and conditions you then one where you just take one class at a time...but that's just my opinion...my A&M interview was supposed to be this coming Thursday, December 7th....I decided that I would be wasting my time....I don't find A&M appealing mainly because of the location and the possibility of splitting up locations between Temple and College Station....so someone who is still hoping for an A&M interview...I hope they can use my vacancy for you! Good luck to everyone still interviewing this month! It's never too late....I have friends who are first years in Houston and interviewed last year in mid-December.....
 
UTH does everything email pretty much. UTSA is the only one I've known to do it all by snail mail, interview and all. TCOM did my acceptance by snail mail though. Just keep checking that inbox! 🙂
 
Just an FYI for people still waiting on UTSW. My buddy who is an MS1 there asked around for me about the prematch acceptances. My initial info. was confirmed in that they will give out additional prematch offers (when is uncertain). Also, my buddy was told by an administrator that not even half of the offers have been given out. I hope this helps... and I'll stay optimistic--UTSW is the place where I really want to go.

Good luck to everyone still wanting to get into their school of choice.

I was completed on Oct. 25.

I called Tech and A&M this morning. Their last interview dates are Dec 20 and Dec 14, respectively. When I interviewed last week at TCOM I believe they mentioned their last date is the 15th, and someone posted above that SA's is the 18th. SW and UTH interview till the first week of Jan, at least that's what is on their websites. Good luck everyone!

Anyone know what "RCW" is? My date changed to 120106, buy my LMFU is the same.
 
My LMFU changed today 12/04!! I haven't had any acceptances yet, so I'm hoping this is fabulous news........please oh please???? 😀 Did anyone else's? And what are you waiting for?

On second thought, it probably has to do with declining an interview or something...boo.

Mine changed to 12/04 too! I didn't decline any interviews. I've heard from UTH, UTMB, and Tech so far, but I don't really think the change of LMFU has anything to do with a particular school as an action by any school could cause a change in your LMFU.
 
Anybody know when UTSA's date to reply was? Just trying to get a feel for when they might send out more 😉
 
Oh my gosh,
guys i need a help for a decision...okey, ut san antonio just notified me of my interview invite, for dec 11???😱 well, im freaking out, cause i had a sceduled trip out of state, bought flight tickets and everything for that weekend, an d plus i think we deserve to be notified at least 2 weekens inadvance???supposedly i never received the mail, and they dont tell u by email..that sucks..well now io dont know what to doo????ive already been accepted at UTMB, and SA wont resechedule my interview date for dec 18th, they are full, but i can get on the waitlist, so i am freaking out????ideally I would love to be able to go on dec18th, but they say a slot is not guaranteed...and i need to let them know asap for the slot this coming monday...is it worht it..what would you guys do if you were in my place...obviously if i fly the tickets will be$$$$ cuz its too late, and also i cant stay with a student,so, im gonna have to waste one ticket, buy another expensive one, plus hotel, but the main thing is, even if i do get accepted, would i choose SA over UTMB?????how about you????🙄
 
i believe SA's reply date was November 28th. Hopefully more acceptances will be given out soon. Good luck!

Total judgement call. It's up to you. I wouldn't pass it up if you think you might actually like it there.
 
isnt this weird also, they say they sent out my offer letter (US mail)..on nov 22nd, but my LMFU changed to 12/01.....what does this mean, I got another interview invite maybe???...do any other schools also sent out mails rather than emails, so i should watch out for my mail( hopefully som1 is not messing up with my mail??)j/k...

Don't worry, it happened to me too. I declined 2 schools three days ago and I still feel bad. 🙁 I died a little inside when I signed those forms and checked the "I decline" box.

hmm i dunno. LMFU still remains pretty sketchy to me...but how did you know you got an interview? (since they dont' email) did you call them?
 
What is going on with the LMFUs? Mine never changed during my interviews, and all of a sudden, mine changed from 10/17 to 12/04... What does this mean?

It could, quite possibly, mean nothing...but it doesn't hurt to be optimistic! 🙂 C'mon acceptance...I had a dream the other night that I got accepted to UTMB, one of those as-real-as-you-get dreams. 😴 I woke up sooooo sad when I realized it wasn't true!
 
Anyone know when UTSW is sending out the next (and final?) round of interview invites?

Our class admissions rep said they sent out 185 prematch offers so far and will have two more rounds of offers... obviously smaller.

How do you know there's one coming and that it's the last round?

Also everyone keeps talking about prematch offers coming out. Anyone know a date? We should hold a pot. I'm going for December 15th, just cuz its a month after the first wave.

Did you go back to sleep? The night before the MCAT I dreamed I made a score and then I actually got that score... so who knows maybe your UTMB dream is a vision from the future. Use your power to play the stock market/lottery.

well, i got an urget email, like this monday, smting like" are u coming for the interview or not..we need to know.."smting more like, they needed a confirmation since they havent heard from me..i was like, wow,,,,what on earth...thats like next week, and they needed the confirmation supposedly this monday....so im getting extened comfirmation till thursday to let them know..i think im gonna tell them to put me on a waitlist...and it wasnt my fault whoever sent out the letters, shld have been more careful...do you guys really think that they might now give me a slot in the next round...i mean, im sure they can squeeze me somehow, and plus, again..it wasnt my fault...i dont know

I don't know if anyone has posted this yet but I heard the Dean from San Antonio saying that only 1/2 their class will go out with prematch offers. I think that's a change but I'm trying hard to remember what I heard at the interview. He also said that they aren't planning on handing out scholarships til the spring, if anyone was wondering about that.
 
I bet the next batch of offers comes out next week (around the 15th). That's my guess.
I hope everyone gets their Christmas wish. I think the hardest part of this whole process is trying to stay patient. I reality, it's not over until the fat lady sings. As a group, we are all determined people who are accustomed to seeing quick results. For me, at least, this entire process has been a big test of my ability to stay humble and patient. I'm still really horrible at playing the waiting game🙂

Yeah, I should be studying for a Biochem final but since my last LMFU was Friday and I haven't received any acceptances to date I am hanging on to the hope that I have been accepted or at least invited to another interview. I don't care which school (liked them all) just let me in so I can quit sweating this deal.

Since so many people were updated on 12/01 I wonder if it could be one or more of the schools notifying TMDSAS that they are not interested in interviewing me.......not sure why they would need to do that but I am trying to keep from getting my hopes up.....only to have them crash to the ground.

I did interview at SA on the 20th so it could just be a file update from them notifying that I have been interviewed. Who TF knows?

Thanks for the info - I was wondering. The spring release for scholarships makes me curious. Obviously this would be after the TMDSAS match - so the scholarships would be for wooing those with AMCAS acceptances?? Thoughts?

I think so. He made a comment that using a $1000 scholarship to decide where you're going to medical school is a bad decision (I agree). And he also said something along the lines of, "We're not going to bid with scholarships" Take that for what you will.

Hmm, how about the 13th? That's exactly 4 weeks from 11/15 😉

Oh, and I just want to mention that I graduate in exactly 4 days, 21 hours, 50 minutes...YAY!!!!!!!!!!!
