lmfu = last master file update... there is a lot of speculation going on about what it means exactly, and there are theories but nothing official.

Wow, thanks. You are actually on this site to help others. That's amazing. So far, all I've seen is people going to all ends to brag about themselves. Kinda of pathetic really...
Well, thanks a lot. I hope you become a great doctor one day.

You know sometimes it is just easier to reply to the whining poster......so Adam, go to your TMDSAS status page. On that page is the LMFU date.

There are lots of speculation on what that date signifies, such as an acceptance/rejection is coming. Now go run.

Thanks mom. And I agree, it is easier to just help people when they ask. Ignoring those in need is not the doctor persona...

Yous guys are gonna make great doctors one day, I can see it now...

Patient: Doctor, doctor, I can barely breath. My hands are turning blue. I'm soo cold. I feel like I'm going to faint...

Doctor (you guys that didn't respond to my LMFU question or responded rudely): Well, those sound like pretty standard symptoms. Why don't you look them up in a medical text. It's only good manners after all. Why should I be responsible for doing a service for someone else?!

Sadly, the patient dies. And all because the pompous doctor refused to help. How sad....

In case you're wondering, I am being a little sarcastic. Of course, there is a grain of truth nestled in this analogy. Also, yes I really am going to fight all I can to not look at the previous posts. I've gone this far... Its like getting into med school. I'm never going to quit

I don't believe any one was being overly rude to you. There is something called "forum etiquette," an unspoken set of manners that includes first searching for an answer to a question, and then posting the question, to prevent cluttering on a thread.

Stating that these people, who told you to use the search function instead of telling you the answer out right, are going to become crummy doctors is pretty crummy on your part as well. When parents refuse to spoon feed their kids, do they suddenly become less responsible with their parenting or their professions? Do teachers who refuse to give the answers to students on exams suddenly become bad teachers?

There are search functions, one global for the site, and another under thread tools (more specific, for each thread). Use them, and dismount from your horse please.

Anyone interview at A&M on December 7th? That's when I interviewed, and I was just wondering if any SDNers were there....😀

These numbers are worth what you paid for them (you can have them for free 😀 )

I figured out the percentage of different schools classes that got students matched in top residency programs. I guess if they can get people in the top programs, they can get me where I want to go.

The top programs I used were: Ortho, Derm, Uro, Plastics, ENT, Radio

UTMB 16.6% of class
UTSW 14.4% of class
UTSA 13.3% of class
Tech 12.6% of class
A&M 10.6% of class

These were based solely on last years match and I don't know how helpful they are

Please don't fry me, I know there are many variables, I just figured I did the work, maybe someone else would be interested

I also realize that just because someone didn't go to a top program doesn't mean they couldn't get into it

^ ru sure those numbers are accurate? I know one of the schools had a high porportion of orthos recently, and your percentages basically would reflect that the school didnt place at all in the other specialties.

numbers are regarding handouts from interviews, which I have found to be way more accurate than the MSAR (ie. UTSW avg MCAT is not a 35)

The average UTSW MCAT is around a 33. Their median is a 35, which is much more accurate when it comes to determining what the "typical" matriculant has.

Congratulations! Me Too! (Acceptance to Texas Tech) My LMFU is 12/4/06. So, prematch offers are definitely still being handed out! Good Luck to everyone! :luck:

those of you who got accepted to tech this past week... when did yall interview?

wow I always assumed the MSAR was mean, well anyways I already mentioned the numbers were worth $0 😉 , figured I had them on my desk, look at them if you want,

best wishes

I have a hard time seeing how UTSW's median MCAT is 35, considering how TMDSAS reported that only 155 matriculants in TX had an MCAT of 34 and above. What am I missing here?

A lot could've gone to UTSW. It doesn't seem too much of a stretch to me. Median of 35 means 1/2 are >= 35 and 1/2 are <= 35. UTSW has a class size of about 220 this year (I think,) so it's POSSIBLE that 110 of those 155 matriculants matriculated at UTSW.

assuming 120/155 actually have an MCAT= or >35, (ignoring the ones with 34), 110 matriculants is an almost unbelievable yield ... or more likely they are just reporting the "accepted student" statistics and not matriculants (therefore an average of 32-33 makes more sense). If I remember, they do hand out statistics to interviewees.

I got tons of random stuff, the match results were what I was looking at, they even give you info regarding your interviewers

Any speculation regarding another wave of UTH acceptances? If another came out, I would imagine it would have to be early this week. Thoughts?

So I've fallen off the not-checking-email-every-five-minutes wagon. HARD. I'm shaking right now because its been almost one minute.

Do we have to report our fall grades to TMDSAS? My grades are horrible, I got 3 Bs (biochem, this grad class and this gened class) and like 2 As, I think my GPA for this semester is like a 3.3! I don't know what happened but i just slacked off!! Do we really have to report it? Can't we just keep it to ourselves?... I REALLY REALLY have to get in this year because with these grades I don't think i have a chance if i wait another year!

You have to report them I believe sooner or later.

can we just eliminate the middle man and send them directly to the school we know we will be attending since we must do that anyways? or do we have to send them to tmdsas regardless?

I guess my question is: can we report it after the match?

I just called TMDSAS, their recorder system states that you need to send coursework updates at the end of each semester and that they update your GPA on the website.

There's no specific mention of sending it in before the match, and I didn't feel like waiting to ask them.

hi,
i'm trying to access tech's web application and i'm having trouble. can anyone tell me what time things get started on wednesday (in lubbock)?
thx!

did you not get an email from them?

"The interview day will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will last until approximately 4:45 p.m. It includes a general orientation, opportunities to visit with current students, a tour of the Health Sciences Center, lunch, and two interviews.

In Lubbock, we will meet you in the foyer area of the Academic Classroom Building on the second floor. Upon arriving at the Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, park in the Visitors Parking, D-1 Lot, directly in front of the Academic Classroom Building. You should enter through the front door (North) of the Academic Classroom Building and take the elevators to the 2nd floor foyer area. Representatives from the Admissions Office will meet you in the foyer area of the second floor of the Classroom Building at 9:00 a.m. "

I also don't know, and for some reason, have written a post to tell you so?

The rules say to send grades in at the end of the semester. I would suspect the best thing to do (no matter what grades you received) would be to send them ASAP. I would suspect that schools wait for the fall grades before making their final decisions on applicants. Submitting poor grades, late, would only compound the matter.

As for sending the grades only to the schools you want, I thinks that's stupid. They specifically say to send them to TMDSAS. TMDSAS then distributes them to the schools. It saves you money, what's the problem with that?

Has anyone heard from TAMU today? I know they said they would notify us on the 20th, but last week they also said Wednesday (but sent emails out Tuesday instead)...

**Still hopin' and prayin' for a good email from Filo tomorrow**:luck:

my friends LMFU just got updated Last Master File Update: 121906. this might mean a TAMU acceptance tomorrow!

waaah, 🙁 where's mine?? My LMFU changed on 12/11 and nothing.

Oh well, here's to hoping. I'll stop whining now. good luck to all who got recent LMFU changes!

hoping to hear good things from TAMU today/tomorrow (although today is almost over). i'm with Tbone_R!

Me three

My LMFU is still 121106 🙁

no lmfu change for me (10/04) but i did see this: Last RCW Update: 121906 Validation Date: 121906

???????

LMFU theories ok. What about RCW? Any ideas what that one is for?

RCW = record of college work (updating grades, GPAs, transcripts and such)... that's not something to freak out over. Not that LMFU's aren't either.

So I take it that no one got an acceptance from TAMU on 12/19? What is everyone's LMFU that's hoping for an acceptance from TAMU? Mine is 12/18....
