Guys, I'm starting to get a little nervous. Based on recent information, I have strong reason to believe that I've been rejected at 6-7 OOS schools I have applied to. If I don't get into a Texas school, I'm pretty screwed. I've interviewed at all Texas schools with the exception of TCOM. At the risk of sounding completely annoying, is there a likely chance that I won't get into any of the 7 Texas schools I applied for?

hahah i too take perverse pleasure in checking my e-mail in vain every five minutes. i know what i wrote wont stop any of you from pulling your hair out over the next few weeks, but i try to do what i can to reduce the pain of the blue balls pandemic on this website

it is highly unlikely with your gpa and mcat that you wont get in

I know what you mean, I've gotten interviews everywhere in TX that I applied to (except UTSA), but I haven't heard from any of my OOS schools. Granted, they are top-tier, but I expected to hear from at least one of them. Especially with the rumors about Wash U being a strong numbers school.

You have a great shot of getting multiple acceptances. That is unless you did something stupid in your interviews, like ask the interviewer if he had any other questions about you. Or something along those lines. 😀 😀

Hey! I just checked mine. I'm IN TOO! 🙂 Such a huge relief. I'm still hoping I get a letter from A&M but I'm very happy with TCOM TOO! Good luck to the rest of you!!

Man I hate to do this but would some of you who were accepted let us know when your LMFU was, particularly with respect to your interview date at TCOM.

NOOOO! The only school in Texas I didn't apply to....

I totally regretted it.

In my defense I had no idea who or what a D.O. is.

NOOOO!!!!! I did exactly that at more than one interview. I'm screwed.

I don't regret not finishing my application there.

I grew up in FW and while it's a great city; I really want to live someplace else.

But congrats to all the accepted!! That's awesome! Go out and celebrate tonight.

Was it anyone's first acceptance?

Me three...

I have to say that I love how ballsy TCOM was on this. We are finding out technically 6 hrs early. They stay high on my list just for this kind of stuff. 👍

Sorry, I'd check my LMFU, but I'm not at home and don't remember my login/pass.

Congrats to everyone that's gotten in so far! It was my first acceptance, so it really takes the edge off the wait. In hindsight, why didn't they always do this? 🙄 I feel awful sorry for all of our predecessors.

Congrats to all who got in. Do you all think other schools (UTSW and Tech) will update their status page tonight by 12 if you got in?

Haha, he's just saying that because I made a thread a while ago on whether or not if was appropriate to ask that question at the end of an interview. The SDN community consensus was "no". I've done that at just about every interview I've been on. LoL. Any one reapplying if they don't get in? Just want to know who my friends are next year...
 
I met with the Dean at Tech (Thursday) and the list of prospective candidates had just been submitted. I would be very surprised if Tech updated their page until 2 weeks after the snail mail was sent out. Just a hunch. They do have a list under consideration as we speak, though.

(My LMFU was 110906, and I interviewed there on 9-21)

Man I'm going to go get a sugar high (I can't drink since I'm underage, so that'll have to do). I just called my dad and he was SOOOOO happy, he started squealing and I could almost picture him throwing his hands in the air....lol.

Congrats to the rest of you as well!! And to those who don't know yet, good luck, you are all great!!!

So....if our LMFU was around that date, it might mean that we've been accepted to Tech! Not that mine is...🙁

11/10/06 is a San Antonio acceptance (or something else that somehow happened on the same day)

Edit: I'm guessing... just making a call to see if I'm right tommorrow or whenever we start getting snail mail letters.
 
So is it the general consensus that it is a bad idea to call the schools tomorrow to see if you got in? And if it is a bad idea, what do you do to fight the temptation to call them?

I think we should hire someone who didn't apply to call. When they ask for a name of TMDSAS number, they can just hang up. Make sure they don't use your phone 🙂

Mine was 11/09, and it was TCOM. Unless there is an envelope in the mail from Tech....
My soutwestern status changed from interviewed, to application received. 😕 I wonder if that happened to anyone else.

Mine still says interviewed.

My UTSW status changed from interviewed to application received as well. Not sure when that happened though...
 
Interviewed. I just tried to call the office (actually I had my wife call b/c I am a fraidy cat) but there was no answer. My money is that they were out of there by 5:01 and we will not know anything for a few days. I hope I am wrong. I doubt they would have answered the phone anyway.
