Baylor > UTSW > UTH = UTSA > UTMB > A&M = Tech

This is my opinion with academics and location. IMHO I would say that UTH might be a little better than UTSA with location factored into the equation since UTH is in the TMC.

what do you think?

TMDSAS now has a section under applicant status to accept/decline prematch offers.

I had a question for people who accepted southwestern's prematch offer already: Is Southwestern showing up in this new menu list? because it isn't for me (the other two schools that offered are) and I'm wondering if that is because UTSW already got my "accept" form.

I also noticed that. I got 4 offers and accepted only UTH, and that is the only one that doesn't show up in my choices. I actually just emailed Tiffany to make sure everything was ok. Its a little nerve racking since I declined them all early so that other people would have a choice because I know I really really liked UTH the best. So it might just be that some schools haven't gotten all the info in. hmmm....😕

my TMDSAS page shows 3/4... it won't let you accept more than one on the page though. i have declined one that is listed (plus one that is not listed), accepted one, and not responded to one... i think they are just now getting this page up and running cause this is the first day mine has had it.

As far as location, Temple/CS, Lubbock/El Paso/Amarillo, and San Antonio are the only places where 60-70K will buy you a nice 3 bedroom 2 bath brick home which is <10 mins away from school/hospital. The other people purely waste months of their lives commuting.

And from the complete list, Tech wins out for the best well rounded students as far as patient contact, interactions, and procedures. A&M would be a very close 2nd or equal. At those other places, get ready to be number 7 in line to do anything.....

I beg to differ, Tech provides MS1s with 4 clinics per semester (4hr afternoons), MS2s have 3 clinics per semester

the fact that there is now a section where you may choose which school you want to choose from your pre-match offers means that tmdsas must be informed which schools you have been offered admission to which means that the lmfu theory may be valid now if it wasn't before the website was updated.

Supposedly they won't have many spots left for the match (I'm thinking less than 1/4 after people relinquish early match offers). Would it be stupid to still rank them 1st when other schools have more spots open? If you don't rank them first, how far down would you place them?

House, it doesn't matter. Rank the schools SOLELY based on how much you like them/the order in which you would want to attend them. Don't pay any attention to anything else. I'm a nontrad with no offers at this point. Have an interview at UTH Fri. Hopefully the holiday spirit will cause the adcoms to open their hearts and someone will give us a xmas present.

There might not be any acceptances sent today from TAMU. I was sent an offer yesterday (12/12), so they might have all been done then. Filo did say that offers would be given on 12/13 and 12/20 when I interviewed, but after yesterday who knows.

i've interviewed at uth, utmb, and sa, and i have tech next week. i thought my interviews went well, but i haven't gotten any offers. i'm a non-trad, 27 yrs old, 10-11-11-r mcat and 3.6 sci/3.55 other/good ec's. this period of time is more stressful than i expected.

i'm posting for solidarity among those who have respectable apps but aren't getting any love!!! it will happen for us!!! have faith!!!

yeah i'm in the same boat. like is there some strategy to the match game or what? what's the point of putting UTMB first if they hardly have seats, you'll probably wind up on a never ending waitlist.

but then again maybe i totally don't understand the match system at all and our ranks compared to the school's ranks, aren't worth a flip

Well, from what I understand of the match, the school you wind up at (if you get an acceptance) is the highest ranked school -you- picked that accepted you. So I'd rank the schools based on how I liked them, not based on who would be more/less likely to accept me.

Yeah I feel you. I am way more stressed and not looking forward to a year wait if Idon't get in. Well I had a 12/11 LMFU and like everyone else I couldn't help but hope for good news and then in the mail, what did I see.................UTMB Rejection and those missing kids fliers like on the back of milk cartons.
