The downside is the profs could really torture us easilly: "The grades for the anat final are in and only 20 of you passed. I'm sorry but the scores won't be posted for two weeks. Then they tell us, interestingly all but 2 of the passing scores belonged to people who have odd student IDs, and sat next to people w/ ID's divisible by 3. I heard you like riddles, have fun & tell your friends not to screw with the match results next year!!!"

Haha I would love to crack that one Yeah, I don't think we'd make a bad class at all. We may be OCD, but we also share information and are very inquisitive, not to mention we are all overwhelmingly bright 😀

Fotolilith - thats just terrible. I really think we should report those photos to TMDSAS. I hope they would take a very grim view of such things. I mean it really isn't a laughing matter. The match stress has broken two great applicants and turned them into that... So, So, sad. Maybe if you sent those pics to the people they work with, they'd be able to get some help? Since we're all health professional hopefulls, don't we have a duty to make sure as many people see those pics as possible - I mean that they get some help?

My info is mainly from what ive read on sdn and a few other places. Its not real encouraging, here is a summary of what I've heard:

1. There must be an opening. At texas schools, most brag about 98-99% graduation rates, meaning only 1-2 openings max in your class.
2. They usually only accept transfers b/w 2nd & 3rd year.
3. Many require MCAT, GPA, normal application packet and some USMLE
4. They say that you must have a compelling reason (family death / illness requiring you to be in that city, spouse at the school etc)

Many of the schools have long waiting lists for these spots, so I imagine the competition is pretty tough. I have heard the schools definitely want to keep the class full, so they do accept enough to fill the spots.

Hmmm.....is it possible that people who interviewed at TAMU and did not receive a rejection letter were perhaps on the list to TMDSAS and those who did receive a letter were not?

more info to solve the puzzle: I did interview at TAMU and didn't get the letter. My friend also interview there and got the letter. We both ranked TAMU last and we both live in Houston.

That's a perfect lead in to my post (thanks). I completed my taxes online last night and plan to do most of the fafsa today, but i will wait until tuesday to submit in order to only list the TMDSAS school I am accepted to. For those of you that know more about the FAFSA, is it true that you can only list 6 schools on the form?
Anyway, again, best of luck on monday night....how sure are we it will open at midnight??

Yep, you can only list 6, per transaction. So after you've sent your first batch and its been processed, you can create a new transaction (with all the information already filled out) and simply add some more schools! Once your first batch is processed, it will be more clear what I'm talking about (you'll see a transaction ID from the first batch and there will be room below for more).

You can also call FAFSA for more info--I believe their phone lines are open 24/7 (not sure). They were extremely helpful when I called!

lol, I can picture that! You know its really bad when they tell you the pogo stick is all in your mind - your really just drooling and jumping up and down.

WTF is wrong with my clock?! I sure wish time moved this slow the day before finals - I wouldn't study all semester - I'd have pleanty of time to read all the books, recopy my notes and catch a movie or two...

I agree. It has been fun killing the time before the match with you guys. It's good to know there are others out there going through the same thing - stressing about the same things. Got rejection letter from UTMB today, dated Jan 24 (didn't interview there).

I hope you're right b/c I ranked UTH first also and my LMFU changed from 1/15 to 1/27. Good Luck!

I wouldn't worry if I were you. You have great stats, and we reached a conclusion in this forum LMFU and Validation date have nothing to do with the match. The only reason I can think of that your lmfu is so early is that maybe you interviewed really early in the season or that you didn't send in any new transcripts or anything.

Probably doesn't mean much. If you read the thread from last year, there were instances of people matching w/ and w/out validation dates and with LMFU before and after 1/15. I hope it has nothing to do w/ the match anyhow. My validation is still 000000. Good luck.
