I think that you're in line to be processed as soon as they get the certification page, pictures, and fee. But I would get everything else in as soon as possible because they can't send your process your application without your transcripts. Email them if you have questions; they're pretty good about returning emails. For me, it says that they received the photos, etc 5/27 and it took them until 6/30 to send my application out. So you probably have a little bit of wait still. You can also ask them where they are in their processing right now and they'll tell you. Hope this helps!

Bear with me here..I'm taking the August MCAT, and I haven't really even looked at or submitted any applications yet (ie. AMCAS). I'm also an out of state resident (California).

Our state law requires that AT LEAST 90% of all classes must be Texas residents. Some schools, Texas Tech for instance, get more like 98%. Therefore, you are applying for a very small number of seats.
The Chief of Admissions at UT Southwestern gave a talk at my undergrad school and said that out of state applicants are considered in a entirely different pool than in-staters and that the GPA and MCAT expectations are quite a bit higher for these people (as high as 4-5 points on the MCAT). In other words, if you are really good, it is worth a shot. If you are borderline, it is probably a waste of time.

give it a chance, your app may still not even be on its way to a med school yet. and if it is there already, it is likely still sitting in a pile unread. it has been only one full day. 😉

I'm in the same boat you're in as far as work goes. I've almost given up trying to find a job as a research asst at tx medical centers, despite having loads of experience. No one I've interviewed with is willing to hire me once they find out I've applied to med school. You've got to be able to give a multi-year commitment.

I was offered a Houston interview on 8/20 and I was TMDSAS processed on 07/07/04. I got a UTMB Galveston interview offer by snail mail today for 8/13. Good luck japtat!

My HPAC (Health Professions Advisory Commitee) at UT Dallas required us to have 3. Two had to be from upper-level science professors at my school, and the other could be anyone. Also, my advisor writes a cover letter. So all together, I have four people vouching for me. If your school has an HPAC program, I strongly recommend applying through their office. We at UTD have over an 80% acceptance rate to med school if the application is through HPAC.

Does this mean it will be sent out again? I ask because theres this spacing error on my application thats bugging the hell out of me, I told them to fix it too before it was sent out, but I dont think they did...I figured leaving the error is better than any more delays in my app

I agree, it looks as though we will start getting invites later this week....I still haven't received any yet--nor have I received that "applicant profile" from TMDSAS via snail mail....
