If you are considering TTUHSC SOP the suggestion is to check into what kind of program they really have and what they are currently doing. The school has some problems that are not being addressed. Admittedly, Student Services does a great job of recruiting, but there are a lot of balls being dropped after that. If not, why has the following become an issue?
Apparently TTUHSC SOP graduates have a deficiency in drug knowledge. To fix this, the school has decided to start a "High Risk Drug Knowledge Assessment" complete with a fine 😱for failing the test. Maybe it would be better described as a fine for failing the test if you want to repeat the test and continue in the program.
This was announced to the Class of 2012 on October 29th, although the school claims the class was previously told about this test and the penalties for failing before. Additionally, the class has been told this test will contain 550 testable drugs, but it is okay because they will be sent a list of the names of the drugs. Additionally, the class has the two weeks over Christmas to study for it.
From Dr. Glenn H Anderson, Jr, when the class expressed concern over the process.
7. Students failing the HRDKA assessment will be informed of their being required to successful pass an HRDKA reassessment prior to being promoted to the P4 year. The reassessment will be held at the conclusion of the Spring semester and reassessment fee of $900.00 will be charged to the student.
8. Students failing the HRDKA assessment will be counseled that they are eligible to audit the PHAR 4204 (Drug Review) course as a remediation of drug knowledge. These students will also be counseled that they may not receive academic credit for the PHAR 4204 course and must choose an additional elective from the list of elective offerings.
