i was wondering if it is appropriate or a good idea to thank the people who interviewed you, especially if it was the dean of the school who made the final decision to your acceptance?

if so, is it better to call or email?

thanks!

Yes it is appropriate. A lot of people don't bother though. Send a nice short letter customizing it to each interviewer.

I bought a pack of thank you cards and sent them out after each interview.

I think it is more appropriate to send thank you notes after interviewing. Now that you’ve waited until after you’ve been accepted, it’s a bit late. Send in a nice fat check for the deposit and that will be thanks enough.

yeah i know it is usually best to send it after the interview but i only had a week in between my interview and acceptance

Well nevermind... and Congrats! You must have been very impressive at the interview.

Send the thank you’s. They like those things. 😀

I sent "thank you" notes to all my interviewers. They choose to take time out of their days to interview. Therefore it's a nice gesture to thank them for their time and interest in you.

In your case you could still send a note thanking them for interviewing and accepting you. You could add something about how you look forward to working with them in the future.

Congrats on your acceptance!!

Yeah, but send it in a over-sized box, you know, like refrigerator size...this will entice them to actually open it! How many thank-you sized envelopes do you think they receive each day? I don't think it gives you an edge at all.

The OP has already been accepted, and does not need an edge. The OP is just asking because it is still a nice gesture.
