Really??? It was amazing! He out touched the guy by like one hundredth of a second. I actually thought he lost the race.
I didn't watch very much of that Olympics. It's possible I never saw it to remember it.

Ah. Then it's possible. It was an awesome one though. We were all screaming at the TV in my house and the dog was going ballistic.

Saw the results of "tonight's" race already, but I can't wait to watch. And then I also saw the spoiler for the women's gynmastics results, and I was sad/pissed.

My mom just briefly said something. I wish the news would be better about not flashing updates around everywhere. Some of us would like to watch the events "live" and not have to avoid every form of technology while the Olympics were going on.
I also have a ton of friends on Facebook from the UK from when I was abroad. They've been ruining quite a few things.

Probably could. But my internet connection has been super crappy lately and my laptop is going on it's 6th year of life, so it's not the best at streaming video. I actually just noticed that there is apparently a part rolling around inside it... Guess I really need to pick out a new laptop before school starts.

What they're showing right now on the east coast (with some swimming intertwined) is from earlier today. They are going back to gymnastics in a few minutes. I heard the spoiler though and it's rather shocking.

I'm the same way. I like surprises but not suspense. I hate watching a movie without knowing the ending lol. My bf gets so annoyed.

On NBC's website. I watched the US Men's qualifying routines. It was 16 minutes long. Cannot find the Women's though.
Yup...thought watching all the routines, the best gymnasts came to play today and deserved it. I wasn't a Gabby Douglas fan until today, but that girl is gooooood.
On another note...someone needs to smack Lochte for losing that race for the US. Phelps certainly set them up for the win, but Lochte couldn't bring it home. 😉 😛

I agree that fencing is not a sport I would be cheering or yelling over. 😛 Only time I ever encourage cheering is when giving demonstrations to kids because they like that sort of thing. It can get distracting when you are the one behind the mask.
You should have seen hubby and I last night when Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings were playing Australia. We high-fived for every point scored. It was so much fun!

Hey now. Lochte swam well. I personally wonder about the relay order and wonder if Phelps should have gone third or last. Maybe Lochte should have gone second.
And why do I feel like everyone is having an off day in gymnastics?? I feel like there are more big errors than usual.
He's tired from winning GOLD MEDALS!!!!
1 gold medal...ONE. Phelps won eight last Olympics and that didn't tire him out. 😛
I agree. Lochte did fine. Maybe an order change would've helped, or maybe the French were just going to have a great day regardless. I thought it was a good race, though of course I would've been happy with a different outcome.
Gymnastics is weird today. The vault was solid, and they just keep getting shakier and shakier...
Oh I'm just picking on emiloo. 😛 I agree that the relay order was odd, but they had to base it off Phelps' and Lochte's last race. Apparently that race shook up the order pretty well.
Oh and I should say that I don't agree with the gymnastics results AT ALL. Not that Raisman and Douglas don't deserve it, but why the heck do they limit the amount of gymnasts per county. In another words, they penalize a country for having an outstanding team. RIDICULOUS!

womens hockey is under review constantly for this too - it's always US and Canada, then Finland and Sweden, then everyone else far, far behind.

I just watched a video of her. I think it was the trials. Her floor routine was awesome! I loved it. But then again, I don't know much about it. I've been watching some stuff but never really knew much about it.
I read something that said the swimming coach sat down and rearranged the order of the relay today after last night's race. Don't blame him for that....I guess they were afraid Phelps would flop again.

I don't either. I just really want to have everyone's splits from 08 and this year. I'm still honestly surprised Phelps was off his time by that much from when he last swam the IM in 08. I know they said he wasn't really training for it, but then why try out for it? I feel like that would have been an event he would have wanted to do.

TW I claimed the whole living room. Everyone went to bed (which I should too, but I want to watch gymnastics).
Even with the results from last night, Freestyle is not Lochte's forte. I don't think he was prepared to be the caboose. At least things are exciting and unexpected.

I felt the same way. Why pick that race over one you've actually trained to do? I don't get it, but at least I feel better about him having a shot as some other medals now.

I wasn't a huge Gabby Douglas fan before and I'm less of one now. In her interview after she got the all around spot she seemed very cocky. Which I get she is probably entitled to, but humbleness is an honorable trait.
