Ok ... now that interviews are over for alot of us, I am just wondering about the etiquette of having someone call your #1 choice on your behalf (i.e. your PD, chairperson, etc). Is anyone doing this? Should I do it? How do I go about doing it? etc. etc. thanks!!

I didn't do it. I did a 2nd look visit to my 2 top choices and wrote choices #3,4, and 5 a note to the PD in January letting them know I really liked their program and was putting it high on my list. Other than that I didn't do any other after-the-interview stuff (besides regular thank you notes) and I matched my 1st choice. Hope this helps!

Hi there! Well, my plan of attack was to do two second visits (choices 1 and 2) and then write notes to my top three after that... #1 telling them they are my #1 and the other two making sure they know I am ranking them really high. I felt insecure sending the "#1" letter (seemed really forward), but my chair said it was the thing to do :D
it's over! put my rank lisk in yesterday!!

my chair offered to put a good word in for me too. i briefly had the same question you had above- but i figure if they offer it can't be bad! they know what they are doing-- probrly have been doing it for years.

my problem is -- i'm wasting the good offer with my inability to decide on number one!!! i think subconsciously i know-- but i'm waiting for to do a second look at posible numbr 2 place just to confirm it and have no doubts about the other lesser ranked places.

good luck!

I think if your chair knows someone it would be helpful.
I would also recommend sending emails/letter to chief or 3rd yr residents as their vote may sway a decision
