The Future of Dentistry

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
2TH MVR is still doing as well financially as he used to do. He just happened to change the way he practiced. Still ok.
I don't want to work for a corporation more than a couple years if I pursue this profession. He changed the way he practiced not for the better I assume.

Major reason he works for corp because he likes working for corp. Different strokes for different folks.

Exactly. Ebb and flow. Economy and business is cyclical. Think of it this way. The generation of dentists before my generation were probably saying the same thing about my generation's school debt. "Wow .... that poor dentist (me) with $50,000 worth of school debt. Back in my day (all old guys says this) when I had to walk to school. Up hill. Both ways. Had 10 jobs to pay for food .... I graduated with less than $5000 of school debt.

It's all relative.

Yup. I'm from Europe, you bet I'm catching a plane back if I need $10k worth of dental work here
once had a problem with my gum where a piece of it just inflated. A dental clinic here was charging $800 for the surgery and I'm sure it was the cheapest price. But my mother suggested that to get dental care in Honduras where we go to visit family. Got the surgery and more for $50. And right now, I need of dental care since I haven't visit a dentist in years and thinking of getting dental work in Honduras again.

And I wonder over the years, who goes to the dentist in the U.S.? Unless you got MedicAid or a very good-paying job which the majority of the nation don't have as prices goes up while wages stay the same or declining.

Fees for procedures depend on a lot of factors such as staffing, facility, materials, doctor training, etc. etc. and what I don't see mentioned on this forum much ........... malpractice premiums. I guess Honduras doesn't have a lot of personal injury attorneys advertising on the buses.
