I guess since next school year is approaching people want to know plans. Being on the waitlist is the worst to explain to people (1 accecptance, 2 wl), especially when the school I got into is close to friends and family. No one seems to understand why I want to go to a school that did not flat out accept me. I also hate explaining that my bf might stay in Boston (he's applying to jobs near my med school, but there are amazing opportunities where we are now).

word, i feel like a failure

Ditto. I feel like everyone's looking at me like a failure. It's like a race at my house now to get all the rejection letters (and there are a lot) before my mom and destroy the evidence. If only I some small shred of good news...oh well, maybe next year.
