I have conveniently solved this problem, kautionwirez. I don't have an SO. Sometimes it gets lonely but I also realize it puts me in a great position to start med school with no distractions.

I know people, though, who have spouses who are not in this field and don't understand why they need to spend so much time on medicine. It can certainly be a source of conflict.

I think if I ever did find someone to marry it might be better if he were a physician, too, so at least he would understand the situation better. Though I know everyone on SDN feels you shouldn't have a SO in medicine.

I agree, if I didn't have a spouse, I would consider a spouse who is a physician. And I know how much time I will have to put in medicine (especially specialties I am interested in). 🙁

But I do love my spouse who has been with me every step of the way. And she has been a pain/nuisance at times... (My gut feeling thinks I could have done better on the MCAT by 3+ points). 😱

Wise men say "only fools fall in love". Guess I'm a fool. 😳

Anyone on the same boat? 😕

awwww 😍
That's my favorite song btw!
I don't have a spouse/SO either.
Like stated, too much of a pain.
But, eventhough you say she could have been the reason for a few point decrease, I'm sure your love for her doesn't change, which is what matters.
I seriously applaud non-physician spouses of physicians. SO your wife gets major props from me 🙂

😀

Hopefully she finds a job. I told her about Americorp and encouraged her to do teach for america while I'm in medical school.

Glad to hear you are doing well, Tapepsi. You were almost a classmate of mine, after all. 😉

So, hello, Late Nighters, I slept from 3 PM- 10 PM today and will now likely be up most of the night even though I have to go to work tomorrow. :d

I am currently on a weird sleep wake cycle too, and will be for the foreseeable future. I work some nights 11p-7a...have class every day from 10:30- 12:30 and lab on M/W from 1-5...so I sleep usually from about 6p-2a if I don't work and about 2 or 3p til about 9 or 10p if I do have to work...on the flip side, getting up at 2am lets me get a lot of things done...no friends up to chat on facebook, nothing good on TV...now if it weren't for this pesky thread🙂

Anyone know a good fix for tired eyes, besides sleeping. Seems to be the general annoyance lately. Everything else gets fixed with a cup of tea, coffee, etc. doesn't seem to help in terms of eyes.

Studying for a damn accelerated physics final. Gotta get a good grade on it so I can get into college and med school! But at 2am, my body disagrees, even though my mind thinks the night is still young.

Going over acids/bases for G-Chem MCAT and getting ready for a weekend gauntlet of FLs before M Day on June 16th. Must....raise....PS...score.

Just found out a girl I've been talking with for the past 4 years and recently asked out has gotten a boyfriend.

Sigh...

To the fellow who hasn't had alcohol in a while, I think we both should be hitting shots tonight.

To add to that, I give girl-advice to my best friend from high school who I've liked for seven years 😡 ...he knows i like (he thinks liked) him too.

Indeed, why do they stick out so much? It is almost as though the animal is constantly putting pressure at the eyes. Messed up.
