Hey Everyone,

I was searching through the threads to see if one has been created for this test date yet, but I could not find it so I thought I would create it. I am waiting for finals to finish up and then going to hit practice tests for the next three months!

i was thinking about it, but to be honest feels like a chore lols. And i don't want to stress until i see the scores, i hope it's enought to get me to a caribbean med school, i want to possibly do my clinical rotations in Ireland or London 🙂

My paper that i got from the exam center says "Your score results will be available In approximately 30 days"

This means 30 days not August 30th!

and + they have it, i believe they want to release everyone's at the same day and time. maybe they took extra long to mark our verbal!
cant wait for tomorrow, gonna be up at 6am lol

actually most other computerized standardized tests give scores back sooner than the MCAT.

On the GMAT, you get your score the day you take the test, and can sign up for a new exam starting the next day.

On the LSAT, you get it between a few days to a week later. I'm not sure exactly (I think it oddly varies per administration, but they let you know before).

As others have said, they're just sitting on our scores, perhaps trying to encourage people to sign up for a new test (and waste $250). Even if just 1% of test takers per administration freaked out and signed up, over a few years they get the revenue for an entire test day at no cost to them.

btw cramster, that's a scary story. who exactly did you call and what in the world did you ask that got her to at least look at your raw score.

Technically yes, but my first time taking it was over 2 years ago (25P), I've been in graduate school since then.

If you're asking if I took the exam this thread is for, no, I'm just hanging around in the other exam threads until the date for my release gets closer.

Ah, I see. Too bad, I thought we could compare notes. I thought the Aug 13th was a gentler exam than July 29th.

SDN is like crack at this point :laugh:

So you took the August 13th before getting your score back for the July 29th? What if you end up doing better on the July 29th exam? Med schools WILL eventually know.

Yeah, not proud about freaking out but I did. I was just so nervous the 1st time out. I'm pretty sure I'm above 30 for the 29th but I want mid30s and I don't think I got that score. However, that Aug test felt better, especially verbal and bio so I think I might have got the score I wanted. I heard schools take your highest and I figured a score above 30 won't hurt.....I didn't bomb either of them.

While it's probably true that most schools take the latest score, I'm not sure this would strictly apply with exams that are less than a month apart. They'd likely just take your highest score since they aren't really a meaningful time apart.

The adcoms are human: i don't think they'd see a 36 on July 29 and 31 on Aug 13 and peg you as the 31. Just my 2c

If anything the lower tiers are the ones that take the highest overall or take the highest of each section from all mcat. Yeah, I see your point if that's true. But my favorite schools take the highest....what's done is done 🙂

BUT the Aug test felt better in some areas and worse in others. On the whole the comments on the test are similar for both dates so my experience might have been unique. The curve might be worse for August 13th but overall I think it felt better because the main factor was nerves on both tests. It also might of felt better due to personal strengths.

We'll see...

Ahhh so close!

I'm not going to predict my scores because I'm superstitious like that lol. Good luck to everyone in the coming days, and yea, SDN is going to be addictive the next few days.

you do know that superstition is a false concept?
predicting a test score wont alter your test that is already scored -_-

What's done is dont guys, let's wait patiently. this is the career path weve chosen and somehow some geniuses thought it wise to make you wait a month for your scores so that by the time you retake you can't apply for this cycle as you'd have to wait 30 extra days to see if your applications is worth sending lols....

some how as the days go and we are closer and closer to find our scores i get even more paranoid and freaked out that i did bad...aghhh 🙁

Question to any of you guys who have previously taken the MCAT:

When you log into the MCAT THX system, do the grades appear right in your face on that main screen where it now says "you do not have any scores yet" , or is there a link of some sort (like the exam date) that you click and then you see your grades?

I ask because I want to know if I should be bracing myself as I click the log in during the next few days.

Unlikely. One day early releases did occur 1 or 2 years ago, but this year the scores are being released on the scheduled release date. Check July 8th, and july 16th for example.

lilqu did you really take the MCAT on July 29th or are you just trolling this thread? lol

the weird thing is that i havent really been thinking about the results much, i'll drive myself crazy. ive had a good dream and a bad dream the past few weeks and the anxiety is crazy, i've just been enjoying my last week off school, playing videogames researching caribbean medical school and chillaxing 🙂


I've really been taken aback about the reality that i may choose caribbean MD school over American D.O. 😱

same here, 1 really good dream, one really crappy one...where I bombed verbal but somehow still ended up with a 28. anyway need my scores before I finalize my list of schools and submit my primary application :scared:

just fyi, you can add schools after submitting your primary app, once it's verified. No need to wait for an MCAT.

I'm really hoping they decide to be nice and release the scores tomorrow...if so it's less than 24 hours away! I've been trying to keep my mind off of it but I am in Physics and Biochem and everything we are doing just keeps reminding me of the MCAT...

I finally got my student loans in and wanted to go ahead and register for the Sept 11th date only to find out all test dates in Texas are closed 🙁

Hopefully I got a 30+ or some of you guys registered for the last days drop after receiving your scores.
