Well looks like the rep. at AMCAS who said 3:30 was full of ****.

Even if its true that they release the 8/12 tests first, the people at the 8/12 thread said that they still have no received their scores so there is no way they could have started releasing at 3:30.

Like I said, expect a delay between the 8/12 and 8/13 score releases...

PS 10
VR 9
WS Q
BS 11
Overall 30Q

Predicted a lot better on PS, a lot worse on BS (organic passage!!), and about the same for VR... Satisfied with my score, my AAMC average was a 30 even though my last 3 tests were 32. Was expecting worse. So happy I don't have to take this test again!!!

Good luck to all of you in your journey, I sincerely thank you for your help and support. I would have never done this without the information provided on this forum. Now, back to drinking beer.

Verbal Reasoning (VR):11 Physical Sciences (PS):08Writing Sample (WS):Q Biological Sciences (BS):09 Total Score:28Q

I scored a 20Q in Jan and studied ~3 solid weeks this summer. I wish my sciences were a little higher but I think it is a pretty solid score considering my circumstances plus I had scored very low in previously in Physical Sciences.

So happy! wished for higher in bio, felt that this was my strongest, but I can't believe I had a 5 pt. improvment in ps! It's done.

I know how you feel I have three kids too and my husband as worked across country for two years, so it is hard studying and doing the single parent thing. Awesome improvement! best of luck to you and enjoy your success I know how hard you worked.

so...... gonna get str8 to the point

6/17/10 - 7/5/6 : 18P

now 8/13/10 - 10/9/8 : 27Q

don't know what to say... not happy, not sad

happy with physical :)
satisfied with verbal

I'm just REALLY DISSAPOINTED with BIO, I was expecting like a 10/11 or so. I worked on that the most, by far, after the first test!
I think the orgo might have gotten to me, didn't study orgo that much 2nd time. those 2 damn passages probably highly skewed my score.........

oh well, i guess i have at least a little chance of getting in now, mebye....

9VR, 7P, Q, 11B

i'm dissapointed with that 7, but not sure if i should retake it.... good job guys, do you think this knocks me out of the running for most MD schools? (3.5 GPA bio major, done about 60 hours shadowing/30 hours hospital volunteering, and a pacific islander)

Not sure if i could really bring it up, since there's so much luck involved...feel like i got easy physical sciences and screwed up a little so i got less than average. don't mean to hijack the thread jus kinda dejected. Hope you guys get into your schools!! :)

PS: 11
VR: 11
BS: 12
WS: R

Total: 34 R.

It's a solid score so I'm happy overall. Funny thing is that PS was my strongest section, and BS my weakest. Oh well, it's a well-rounded score.

9 - PS
9 - VR
10 - BI

28Q Pretty good score with a good distribution. To quote someone else, not happy or sad. Hopefully my CV combined with a decent score is enough. Good luck everyone, remember, the score isn't everything!

I just want to comment on the verbal section.
I have seen several people mention that they always did great on verbal sections but are surprised to see that they did much worse on the verbal section of this mcat.

I can add that I have taken around 10 practice verbal sections and have never gotten lower then an 11 (usually 11, just a few 12's). Then somehow on this MCAT I got a 9. I also am shocked that I scored so much lower then I normally do on verbal. Also, its not as though I felt like I did poorly on the section on test day. I thought I killed verbal and expected a score at least as high as my usual 11 or 12. Very strange that several of us performed so much lower then our usual on verbal.-SH

I was hoping to do better....

8/12er here. I got an 11 on PS, 9 on VR and 13BS and WS Q so we were very close. How do you feel about the Q because I never paid attention to my Writing and so I'm not sure how a Q is seen by schools? Not that I care, Writing can lick my buckyballs :p

6 VR 9 PS 11 BS O WS

Self-study with Exam Krackers/Kaplan materials. I walked out knowing I didn't break 30 and did poorly on VR, but not that bad on VR haha. Hopefully my 4.0 GPA will cancel out that 6, haha.

Congrats to all of you who did well and good luck at your prospective schools!

Really??? Not sure how to feel huh?
Yea a 37 is one of those "borderline" scores where you don't know quite how to feel.

Cmon man....

Probably let down with the L. Also, a 37 for him as an individual could have been well below his practice scores. To each his own. Happens every MCAT test date thread. Some people are thrilled with 28's, some are let down with 36's.

I could punch a hole in my wall right now thinking about my verbal score. I was close to requesting a regrade when I first saw it, but seeing this thread tells me there must've been a tough curve on that section.

35 overall

Totally thought I raped physical and failed bio. Dissapointed because I was averaging 38-39 but I got sick the week of. I was planning on applying to the top research schools but IDK if I can get far with a 35.......should I retake? I know I can do better since I took the exam when I was sick.

I'm ecstatic about the 37, but I don't know if an L is a dealbreaker or something that will automatically get me filtered out. I'm actually a good technical writer, but I lack the ability to BS. This is why I hate standardized essay questions of this sort. I can't make stuff up about things I don't know. Give me cold hard facts, not stuff about popular culture and politics.

I don't think that verbal has a curve. I think it is the only section that you actually get what you get and that is why it can be so tough. I am not positive about this, that is just what a kaplan instructor told me.

32Q

I was averging a 35 on practise tests.. but I am very happy with this score!:)

its kinda weird how MCAT works. My highest practice was like a 29 but yet I got a 33Q. I guess that's what happens when a snapshot of your knowledge is taken, not truly representative of what you know

Just the opposite for me. My actual score was about 4 points lower than my average. So that definitely sucks, looks like I'll be retaking it at the beginning of 2011.

Can anyone give me advice on whether or not to retake? I'm aiming to get into research heavy schools and their average is about a 35-36 so I don't know if a 35 will cut it. I KNOW I can do much better but it's not worth it if they don't really care once you get over a certain number.

Is this a joke?

If you retake, your score might go down. 35 is an excellent score and you should not have to worry about anything.

Because I am bored and have never done this before...I am going to post my score prediction. LOL :D

8/13/2010 MCAT

PS: 10
VR: 9 (Hoping for at least a 10)
BS: 11
Writing: O
Overall: 30,O

Well feel free to join in the score prediction fun! :)

This just goes to show that you never can tell. I was being extremely optimistic when I posted that prediction.

My actual score was:
PS: 8
VR: 11
BS: 9
Writing: Q
Overall: 28Q

I am totally estatic about the verbal. I didn't study much for it...I just started using a new main idea and analyzing technique a few weeks before the exam. I am so excited!

I improved my score 8 points from the January MCAT! Praise God!:)

Kinda know what you mean. Last year I had:
PS 9 BS 10 VR 12 Writing Q ... 31Q.

This time it was:
PS 11 BS 11 VR 13 Writing M ... 35 M.

I'm hoping the drop in the writing section doesn't hurt. I figure I should be fine as both my VR were great, I am a lawyer who graduated with honors and made law review through a writing competition. Hopefully Adcoms just figure I had a bad day/bad topics. Anyone have any thoughts?

VR 7 PS 9 BS 10; 26R... down from a 27R with 7-10-10. Good thing the writing section matters, facepalm

hey man, same score here (VR 9 PS 7 BS 11 = 27Q) just wondering, you gonna retake it? A lot of MD schools put a cut off at 8's for each section but no one has really responded to my conundrum, of the score being 'good enough'. Hope we both get in to our schools.
