I understand that there may be other circumstances, but why are y'all only applying to one school? In every interview I had, they asked if I applied to other schools. The answer should be a resounding yes. Do you want to be a dentist or do you just want to go to GRU? Just food for thought...

And I am a reapplicant who was accepted this year.
Do you think be in nursing program as a second bachelor, is a negative point of dental application?
Also, how many school did you apply this year?

I'll be declining my offer this coming monday (or as soon as the office is open. I've been lazy y'all). I am sure the seat will definitely gonna belong to someone who will do amazing things in dentistry. 🙂 I really wish Georgia had more than one dental school! since I just read that gru takes "similar" applicant off the wait list, I'm a female in-state in her gap year, graduated from emory.

I'm a female! In my gap year! Graduated from Emory! You give me hope as well!

Tough decision, but I'll be turning down my offer from GRU. Gap-year, in-stater from UGA. Good luck guys and Merry Christmas!

Anyone know when the admissions department re-opens following the holiday sabbatical? For some reason Jan 2nd is sticking out in my mind. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks and congratulations to those who have received their acceptances and good luck to those who, like myself, are waiting for the phone call!!!

Just curious, what is the required deposit? Just trying to (hopefully) plan for future costs! Thanks in advance

Anyone get in in the second round of acceptances? (OOS especially?)

Hey guys! i just wanted to say that i'm oos, and i got an offer on dec 2nd, but i've declined it. hope that gives someone some helps!

Is it safe to say that they still are filling the class orrr?? How many spots are still open?

I believe its already full. Otherwise there would not be people on the wait list

I agree with the above post, however there are only 49 people on the facebook group as of this morning. So while its possible accepted individuals have not joined the group, I'm still holding out for an OOS to drop such that I can get in (I'm OOS).

They recently sent out an email to accepted students (students who have accepted his/her offer) about the Open Doorway Program (aka a chance to come and visit campus in a relaxed setting and to get a better idea of housing etc.). On this email, there were 79 recipients. Hope this helps and to those still waiting, I'm sure things will still need to settle out in the coming weeks/months! Also, don't forget that there's a chance that the class size will increase if they know the main classroom building construction will be completed in time for the fall semester.

Thanks for the heads up. I wonder how many OOS they actually accepted (up to 10% max).

I also heard a few spots will open up if they finish the new building so Im praying for those workers as well!

Visited the school today and some of the current dental students are under the impression the building Will be complete in the spring. Again that is just speculation but there seems like there is a lot of work to still be done. Stay hopeful! Also here's the link to the Facebook group again

Was there any other important info in that email besides this? I never got that email?

It just included your vote for which day you would prefer for Open Doorway. Hmmm have you sent in your deposit already and everything?

I got a call from Dr. Hanes today .. Best call ever!!!!! Got in finally from the wait list!!!!!!

Last week I got a call offering me an out of state position but I declined because I had already put all of my efforts and money into my in state school. Had they reached out to me a month ago I would have taken their offer. I am a male from florida so good luck all of you OOS applicants.

I got the call yesterday afternoon to come off the waiting list! I couldn't be happier! Good luck to everyone still on the list! Don't give up hope yet!

[QUOTEI had had"BWA1991, post: 17204094, member: 614651"]This is an old thread. The new thread is here: http://

Hahahaha. Must have posted it on the wrong thread. .thanks BWA1991 🙂

I'm posting this since this is an older thread and therefore many of those who participated will now be dental students at DCG.

For those of you who are currently enrolled, how much interaction does exists between dental students and medical students, either facilitated by Augusta university or that occurs spontaneously?

During my MCG interview, I was told by one of the tour guides that there is a mixer during the beginning of year one for the dental and medical students to cursorily get to know one another, but I'm curious as to whether any kind of interprofessional interaction/collaboration beyond this type of thing is encouraged/facilitated. Thanks!
