How am I supposed to feel if my score went up 3 points from my last exam but my bs went down 1 point? I'm happy with my total score but I don't know what to think of that...

In a MAJOR pickle, I got a 28 (8/10/10) PS apparently killed me.. I didn't study a lot, hadn't taken the second half of ochem, kind of rushed it to avoid the new MCAT. I don't know if I should apply with that, or retake. It is literally the one score i didn't want to get because I knew how hard it would be to decide about.. My cgpa is 3.76 and sgpa 3.8, I have good ECs, (school gov, red cross board of directors, leadership position in school volunteer program, school cadaver lab coordinator, run a program to teach youth anatomy, those are a few..) Good shadowing hours, clinical experience, I am a Utah resident. WHAT DO I DO, any suggestions from anyone in similar situations or know someone from a similar situation? PLEASE HELP!

Pretty bummed out. Looks good enough for my state school but my dream school seems pretty impossible now. My goal was a 34 and I don't think I want to take the new one enough to get an equivalent score. Been lurking since late December. Thanks for the laughs and support.

I'm surprised. I felt like it went well; I really thought I got at least an 11 on BS. But still a great score for me:

Test date: 1/10/2015
Time: 1 pm
AAMC average: 29
AAMC 10-11 average: 29
Post test expected score: 31
Actual score:
30 (10/10/10)

I have never scored a 10 in verbal. That was extremely weird for me. I was pretty sure I got a 10 in PS.

This was actually the score I was hoping for! Scored a 27 last time (8-7-12); did a little worst on BS this time but improved by 3 and 2 points in PS and VR, so celebrating!

This is incredible and I am humbled by the score I got, the first time I took it I got a 29 (10P/9V/10B). I applied to med school and only got one interview from which I got rejected. This time I changed my whole study plan. Instead of using prep books, I relied mostly on videos to learn. I guess it is all about finding out your learning style. For those planning on retaking, try something totally different, there's a reason those prep books did not work the first time around. And the facts come rushing back the second time around, it's not as bad as the first time, I promise. I guess the other thing that helped me keep my cool is knowing I can take it again if I have to, there's no rush. Thank you all for being here and going through this journey together with me. It has made the wait a lot less stressful. Next stop: Medical School!

Pretty bummed - really thought I would get at least a 32, and need at least a 32 for Canadian med schools. Not sure what I'm going to do, or when I'm going to retake, but I definitely have to retake.

you're still good for U of T at least? And Mac if you're GPA is high and you're from ON
Don't worry, this was my second try and I still didn't break 10 on verbal for western

Pretty upset to make an 8 in verbal but according to my adviser, I should not have to retake to get into our state MD school. HALLELUJAH!!

Happy that you got a score that will meet your goals!

I appreciate the support. My whole application strategy has been thrown in the air and I need to figure out what to do. Lol.

I've been lurking this thread since the 10th, thought I'd post.

Test date: 1/10/2015
Time: 1 pm
AAMC average: Took no practice tests
AAMC 10-11 average: ditto
Post test expected score: Was thinking 24-28
Actual score: 27 (9PS/8VR/10BS)

I was pretty unprepared for the test, I did some gen chem/bio review, but did no practice other than trying a few sections of the free AAMC test.
My bcpmGPA is 3.83 and my overall GPA is I think 3.52 (finished undergrad). Is this good enough for DO schools and some "lower-tier" MD?

Yes that's true - but my cGPA is not very high so I was banking on more queens/western because of the 2 year GPA calculations - however am eligible for dalhousie and U of T and may take my chances. My 2 year gpa is 3.8, but cGPA is much lower so not sure what to do. Def won't make it for mac that's for sure.

Test date: 1/10/2015
Time: 1 pm
AAMC average: 35
AAMC 10-11 average: 35.5
Post test expected score: ~32
Actual score: 29 (11PS/9VR/9BS)

this sucks

So I am also in a bit of a pickle... I scored a 28 (10/6/12). I am a South Carolina resident and have a 3.92 GPA and a publication. Any chance at state schools or at minimum low-Tier MD schools? The 6 is killer... My dream school is MUSC...
