Hello Forum,
This is the official thread I've created for all the July test takers. I know its kinda early to start preparing for the July MCAT, but I know some who may have already begun the marathon since the new MCAT requires more than 3 months of study prep. Let's fill the thread with rich MCAT related discussions and be helpful to one another. The white coat down the lane is awaiting us ! Let's go....

513 on the real thing. 89% overall.

127 for CARS and B/B
129 for C/P (shocking...this was probably my weakest throughout practice)
130 for P/S

Practice AAMC was about 79.5% overall. (88% for CARS, 73% for B/B, 75% for C/P, 81% for P/S)

513 Overall

126 Chem/Physics
128 CARS
129 Bio
130 Psych

SOOO Surprised. For people who did Kaplan I scored around 498-502 on all of my practice tests.

Do you guys think Chem/Phys is going to hurt me?

To quote @Caffein3 : absolutely not. equal to ~9 on the old exam. on the lower side, but not an app killer.

AAMC FL:

C/P: 83%
CARS: 92%
Bio: 88%
Psych: 87%

Actual (July 18th):
C/P: 129
CARS: 128
Bio: 130
Psych: 131
Total: 518

July 18, 2015 - 517 overall, 131/127/128/131
AAMC FL - 88.5% overall (taken 5 days prior)
Kaplan:
Diag - 503
FL1 - 502
FL2 - 502
FL3 - 505
FL4 - 505
FL5 - 502

This was my third time taking the MCAT (24 in 2012, 30 in 2014). As others have said, if you don't get the score you want and feel driven to improve, there's no reason to let a single exam limit you. Best of luck.

I have no idea how this happened. So good, really needed this.

Man, the day I wanted to take my practice test, my dad yelled and my mom ( who had been sick), had a hemorrhage. she had to be resuscitated twice.
I slept in the hospital 7 DAYS before the exam, and I thought "god there is no way I can ever pass this exam."

Thank God for this. 515!!!!

Okayokay sounding like everyone here but I am so conflicted as to how to feel about my score right now and need to know if my CP will kill my app and if I should plan to retake:

515
CP 124
CARS 131
Bio 128
Psych 132

Like damn. I expected to get at least a 125-126 on that CP section I'm not sure what happened. And now I'm really worried because I didn't even hit 125 on that section. :(

Edit: for people who are curious, my AAMC FL scores were 59%/85%/68%/76% (I finished the psych section under 30 minutes because I need to pee).

Wait guys a converter I just used said 508 is equiv to 31 (prospectivedoctor.com) Idk if it was my score break down or what but seeing that made me feel like I might not retake..?

Ugh, not as high as I was hoping for, a bit embarrassed but I'll post it anyways! Certainly isn't consistent with my sGPA of 3.95 and cGPA of 3.85 lol

C/P: 124 - 45th percentile (ugh, sort of expected though. I suck at g-chem and physics)
CARS: 126 - 70th percentile
Bio/Biochem: 125 - 54th percentile
Psych/Soc - 129 - 93rd percentile

Overall score: 504, 64th percentile

AAMC FL C/P 70%, CARS 85%, Bio 75%, Psych 70%
TPR FL's 496 x2

How did you manage to do so well on Psych compared to the FL?

C/P: 127
CARS: 126
Bio: 127
Psy: 131
Overall: 511 (85%)
Do you think my score is competitive enough? what would the score be in term of the old MCAT?

CP- 127 (79%)
CARS - 124 (44%) ouch
BIO - 129 (93%)
Psych - 126 (66%)
Overall - 506 (71%)

I'm aiming for DO, so hopefully this lands me somewhere.

To be colloquial, "lower end" of a 32. You are competitive all over the country if you have a good GPA. Maybe not at Harvard, but mid and lower tier MD.

Phys Chem: 131
CARS: 129
Bio: 131
P/S: 130

99% rank overall with a 521

Studied 7 months and messed up a previous exam with a 505. took the risk of of applying a month late for 1 more try. I'm in shock.... I feel more proud of my mcat score than I feel like I would being accepted to med school because this mcat has been such a journey/nightmare. Taught myself biochem, anatomy, physiology, and had to relearn all of my premed material since I've been graduated for 2 years doing nothing. Been lurking this thread for weeks so I appreciate all the funny comments and camaraderie that made me feel less lonely in this strange struggle that no one else besides my fellow premeds understand. Thanks for the info and entertainment and I wish you all the best.

guys help. what do you think

123/127/125/125. 500 total.

I'm relieved its over. I'm happy with cars considering i had like 3 questions left on the last passage but really disappointed with psych. I was killing psych on practice. 128 on TPR and 80% on AAMC and i end up with a 125 I've never scored that low on psych ever.

Pretty pleased with my score. I didn't do any Kaplan or TPR practice exams (except for 1 wayyy before I started studying). I started studying in mid-May, but was working 5o hours a week while studying and was also volunteering 8 hours on the weekends. Glad I don't have to deal with this again.

Same... Is 506 even worth applying to MD with? Might just retake in September and finish all my secondaries now. I think its good enough for DO right?

Anybody know?

A 506 is worth applying. It's roughly equivalent to a 29 right? I know people who got 27's and still got in. One of my friends got a 28 and got into 3 med schools. You never know until you apply. It might be stressful, and you may have to wait longer than someone who got a 520. But you never know!
I would also say it's good enough to apply to DO.

IMO as far as practice exams go, EK were most like the AAMC exams, except for psych. Their psych was abysmal. For content review, I used Princeton Review, although I do not think that it was the best choice. Wasn't enough, and was too much at same time.

C/P 132 --> wtf??
CARS 126
Bio 127
Psych 129
Total = 514

Extremely unbalanced. This is a retake of a 29 :( do you think I will be competitive for med schools with a 3.7??

I know there's an insane amount of varying emotions going on in here, which is why I'm a bit hesitant to jump in and share, but i also know that at the end of the day, you guys are so supportive and kind and would love to hear that one of your fellow sdn posters did well on the mcat :) and i did!

i got a 516!!! i'm ecstatic. ive just been dancing and crying with my family for the past hour, i was so absolutely overwhelmed with joy and happiness!!! this past summer has been absolutely grueling in a lot of different ways...academically, at my job, and in my personal life....so im just in tears knowing that this exam worked out so wonderfully in the end. gosh, i need to get it together and finish these secondaries already but i'm just so insanely emotional right now!

for those of you who'd like to know my scores:

AAMC FL (I took this exam before like 80% of my content review just to see if i had a solid enough foundation to take the exam in 1.5 months so my scores are lower than what my actual exam ended up being!!!!)

C/P: 58%
CARS: 94%
B/B: 61% (then, the night before my MCAT, i decided to retake just this section and i got a 76% haha)
P/S: 71%

I took some princeton review online tests as well, lmao. I got like 501, 502, and 503 on it i think.....something like that. i did not get higher than a 503 and i took that practice test like 1-2 weeks before my actual test.

ACTUAL MCAT SCORE:

C/P: 129
CARS: 129
B/B: 127
P/S: 131

Gosh, i cannot believe this!!!!!

I don't see why not? I mean...514 is 91%..or roughly a 33 on the old MCAT. you are competitive.
