I thought I would have heard something by now! I know a few people who I interviewed with and they heard within a week of the interview.

I interviewed on this same day and my portal still says the same as yours. Hope we hear something back soon.

I interviewed 1/24 and I asked if Stephanie was still working and they said no. The person who took her position is Diana. She is also really nice but not as knowledgeable as Stephanie was. I think she is still getting to know the program (she used to work for the med school).

Not sure man...that's the number that was given to me by Diana in the email that was sent to invite me for an interview. Just call and say hey I'm a dental school applicant and need to talk with someone about my application.
 
So I finally got in contact with LECOM this morning and I talked to Annette. I interviewed on 1/24 and I had not heard anything so I wanted to make sure they were not waiting on updated information. She told me that I have not heard anything because they have not decided if they want to get me a spot in the class, or if they want to put me on a wait list. So I guess not hearing anything is better than hearing a rejection. 🙂

(p.s. this is the number I called 941-782-5918... i think it is the direct line to the dental school)

Could mean anything. I got this email on tuesday night and freaked out.. thought it was either a waitlist or rejection. But next morning I got the acceptance letter via email. It could honestly be anything though. Acceptance (like in my case), or it could be a waitlist spot or a rejection. I have seen every outcome on these forums. Keep your head straight! no point in worrying too much at this point.

Like swoops said, it could literally mean anything. Don't worry about it 'til Monday! I would say if you don't get a call or email from them on Monday, then it's probably a waitlist or rejection. Good luck! :luck:
 
Why would they interview me on Thursday only to reject me on Friday? This makes no sense.

Maybe they felt like you dont fit their program? Anythings possible. Like we said earlier... don't read into right now. If I have learned anything from this cycle it is that this process is completely unpredictable. The easiest way to deal with it is to go on with your life like this app stuff isn't even happening. Otherwise it will consume and you will read into all the 'rumors' on SDN. Good Luck! hopefully you will join the class next week!

Fit their program? I answered their questions just like everyone else did. It's not like I said "PBL sucked" or anything...I don't get this.

You asked, I answered. It comes down to alot more then how you answered their questions. You'll probably be accepted or put on the waitlist. But all I have been trying to say is dont expect anything in particular. There are a limited number of spots and its really competitive come January. Let us know what happens, and stop taking things so personally.

What a superficial way to judge someone. It's hard to get your point across when there's 5 other people trying to get their word in.

I'm on your team here. We're all experiencing the same process and I know it's stressful. I'm sorry you found my answers judgmental, I didn't intend for it to get to this point. Good luck in your pursuit of an acceptance, and I really hope you hear good news from LECOM soon.

Still nothing. No email or call, but Annette was gone for the day so I'm guessing that could possible be a reason for the no update-email or call.

I shall call back tomorrow.
 
I got offered an alternate position. Great, what now?

Same day as you. I would email your interviewer and let them know how interested you are in LECOM; that's what I did. Who interviewed you?

Dr. Zeller and Mrs. Margie Bell. I sent letters after the interview, thanking them and expressing my interest. Did you email you actual interviewer?

We must have interviewed together. I emailed Ms.Bell and she was real prompt with her reply. I told her how I interested I was and she replied telling me she had me on her list for acceptances but she was missing my updated transcript. I then went that afternoon (Friday) to my school and requested they send my transcript. Good luck! Hope you get an acceptance.
 
I interviewed on 2-7-13 and got put on the waitlist. hopefully i get accepted
 
How did you hear you were waitlisted? I interviewed on 2/7 also and have yet to hear anything back. The lecom website says my application is still under review as well.

Typically you receive alternate positions through the mail. I would really suggest calling M. Bell about your application. Apparently she will tell you what your status is over the phone. Good Luck

I emailed Mrs. Margie Bell today and I got a reply within 30 minutes. I emailed her, because that is who I interviewed with, but she is also head of admissions. I interviewed on 1/24.

She told me "Your application is in order. You are currently in our high hold folder waiting for a spot to become available. Hopefullly, you'll hear something positive from us soon."

I have heard that acceptance is usually through email and rejection or alternate is through US Mail. When I interviewed they said that we would find out something in 2 weeks, but it has almost been 3 weeks for me.

Is everyone who is a part of the facebook group already accepted and planning on attending? If so there appears to be 15 slots or less available.

You also have to consider that not everyone accepted or planning to attend is in the FB group.

and that some of the people in the fb group are part of the current class so they can answer questions.

I'm at a loss on who to talk to since Stephanie left. She was a very nice lady and I am shocked to hear that she is no longer there. Does anyone know Diana's last name and email address. Or a direct line to call her on? Thanks guys for any info you have. Just not sure who to talk to now.

Hey everyone that is wait listed or waiting to hear about a spot. I interviewed back in December and was waitlisted. I was offered an acceptance spot at the beginning of February so there is still hope for you all!!!!

Especially since come monday, I will be turning down my acceptance because I was offered another at a school I liked a little better. Best of luck to one of you on getting my spot!

and if you did...how long did it take before you got accepted?

Yes someone in my class currently has an interview scheduled for March, I think the 7th.

Email M. Bell expressing interest in their program. You have to understand that LECOM probably operates a little differently than most schools. Reason why I say that is because so many people withdraw their applications when they accept offers from other schools. If you can get an interview and get on the waitlist I think it moves pretty quick (relative to other schools). Anyways, just email them letting them know you would love to interview there and why you would (probably include something about PBL)...I mean it can't hurt at this point right? Good Luck!
