Is anyone able to confirm, perhaps any current students, that their 75% of the first graduating class failed the board on the clinical portion? I wasn't sure if it was just a rumor.

LECOM portal admission status still blank for me after my interview I had many weeks ago.

has anyone ever interviewed here this cycle? if so how was it like? i heard it's groups interviews....

also still confused on what Problem Based Learning is all about...help ;(

Yes it is a group interview, 6 interviewees and 2 faculty members. The way their curriculum is set up is anything dental related and your gross anatomy are lecture based with exams, PBL is only for your basic sciences. You will be in groups of 9 with a faculty member sitting in on your sessions along with a clinical case you will be discussing. Based on the case, you will assign your group different chapters to read, ex 1-4 in biochem, 3-9 in microbiology, etc... After your group comes to a conclusion on the case an exam will be made based off of the chapters you selected, after talking to the students it looked like it averaged around 20.

Hello, has anyone received an email to complete the supplemental application after you have already completed it? ughhhh I'm hoping this isn't delaying my application from being reviewed!

Call them. Now. lol

haha I did, left a voicemail and I also emailed since they said on the answering machine that email is the preferred method of communication. I seriously have no luck!!!!

How long did it take for you guys to receive an interview invitation email after the portal changed to "congratulations you have been selected to interview"??

Thanks in advance!

How long did it take the required letters and credits section to be updated after submitting supplemental?

My admission status is still blank after my sept. interview...fun

I recently (last week) got an email that my supplemental app has been processed...and my overall app was complete in August...is this normal?

Question for those of you who have interviewed here and were asked to send a letter of intent. If you do not send a letter does that automatically mean you will be rejected come Decemebr 1st.

I sure hope not, I would like to go there but didn't send a letter of intent. I thought going to the interview and spending the day there was showing enough interest, but I would like to see what other people say too.

If you don't sending a letter of intent, it does NOT automatically mean you will be rejected on December 1st. Plenty of people including myself, did not send a letter of intent and got in on December 1st. Sending a letter of intent helps you out the most if you get waitlisted. It shows them that you are still very interested in the school.

Thank you so much. I wasn't sure because lecom seems like a great school from the faculty to the students, they only concern I had was with the PBL style of teaching which is holding me back from sending the letter of intent.

Hi. What are LECOM's minimum requirements for DAT (all sections)

I submitted my application late July and got an email Aug.1 that they received my application. However, I never heard back from them about the supplemental application. So I emailed them last week and they just sent me the supplemental application along with the payment. I wanted to know if it is already too late to even send in the application fee. And do they send supplemental to everyone or students they are interested in.

I think they send supp to everyone. I think..

Ok thanks, I was a little confused why I never got the supplemental. Is it worth to pay the fee this late in the cycle do you think?

If I were you, I would still pay the fee and complete the supp. Apparently, LECOM put one of my friends on hold for no reason up until recently and I think she still paid the fee regardless. If you have plenty of interviews already, then might want to save some money but otherwise I would pay

My file was put on hold, without a real notice other than : your file will be re reviewed by the committee in 90 days, or something like it. Checked the portal and saw all of a sudden a bunch of stuff showed up missing in the letter/credit checklist. Called in, told to email them all the stuff and hopefully it will be processed soon enough. Same thing happened with the supp, had to call, got the supp live while I was on the phone with them... Lesson: CALL Them if you have any doubt!

For the past 2 months i've been getting the message that there was a decision made on my file and that i would be notified within 30 days...

Interviewed on 11/18. Waitlisted 11/23. A little bummed, but silver lining is I wasn't rejected (I was really nervous throughout interview day) and there is ton of waitlist movement, especially around January. Keeping my fingers crossed.

You got waitlisted before Dec 1st? I thought they had to wait until Dec 1st to put people on the waitlist...

I thought that they only had to wait until December 1st for acceptances. I believe waitlists and rejections, even after interviews, can come before then.

I'm LECOM - Bradenton (I might be on the wrong thread, woops). From my understanding at the interview they've been notifying applicants about decisions for their program for some time now. Might just be a policy with their campus though.

My admission status on my portal is blank as well. Does anybody have any insight on this, not sure if it's good or bad lol

Does LECOM only notify acceptances through that physical letter?

No, I'm pretty sure you'll receive an acceptance email. So no email could mean that that physical letter could be a WL or rejection, judging from past threads.

Decision has been made portal change here.

It seems past acceptances have been through email. Is it safe to say that mailed letters will be rejection or WL?

I just checked my LECOM portal and it's saying a decision has been made and I'll hear back within 30 days.

Has anyone who already interviewed not had their status change to "decision made"?
