*** The Official LECOM Class of 2024 Interview/Acceptance Thread ***

In your LECOM portal does it say "We received your supplemental application. The review process will begin......." or has it been changed to something else? Someone above said it says "processed". Anyone have some info to share? Thanks!

Mine says the same thing as yours. It says they've received the supplemental and the review process will begin.

I received an interview invite this afternoon! I look forward to meeting some of you on the interview trail! And good luck to everyone still waiting (it's SO, so hard being patient).
Congrats!!

This is correct. No food or drink outside of the cafe. There are 4 sets of water fountains tho.

Has anyone been able to get in contact with admissions yet? It's been 2 months since I first emailed/called and still no one is responding or answering the phone. They're showing that I am missing prerequisites (I am not) so I actually need to reach them but nothing!

Second this. Granted, I emailed them just over a week ago about something else, but I still haven't heard from them.

So, anyone with experience (or a current student), what does it take for us to get a response?

We only have one person in charge of admissions and she also has to keep us updated. She is still handling first year immunizations etc. So, she might not get back to you. Trust that it will be fine. Remember this: THEY WILL REACH OUT TO YOU IF THERE IS A PROBLEM.

Are you able to walk out whenever you like to drink water, etc or are they strict about that as well? Also, how strict are most of the professors about drinking water inside of the classroom? Do you still see people doing it regularly?

You can walk out (albeit do so quietly). They're stricter on actually being in your seat ready to work on time. I don't bring water to class. It's more of a personal/ethical thing for me; however, I know of people in my class that do it and nobody says anything.

Can you explain what you mean by it being a personal/ethical thing for you? It's okay if you'd rather not but I'm just curious.

They asked us not to, so I don't. Even though I could because again it's not really enforced.

My issue is that most people already don't drink enough water as it is which leads to a host of health problems. Meanwhile. most graduate students are not eating healthy, drinking enough water, exercising regularly, or sleeping well, yet they choose to make it more difficult for us to drink water in class but instead offer pizza every Wednesday in the cafeteria.

I'm sorry but that policy is complete nonsense to me.

It is to many of us. That's why they don't follow it. At the same time, I get where the policy came from. The desks are small and sort of flimsy. So, it's no question that someone spilled water onto someone else's laptop. Imagine that headache. That's why we are allowed to step out if we need a drink. Plus, they usually give us 15-20 minute breaks between lectures.

I’m sorry but how often does that really happen? In all of my years of undergrad I never once saw that happen.

Has anyone heard anything back? I applied 6/13 and sent my secondary 6/20 and still haven’t hear anything back.
Kind of worried as some of the people have already heard back.

Don't be worried. Give it time. Cycle just started.

We've asked several times if the rule could be changed but they're very clear that the rule is staying. If security sees you on the cameras drinking outside of the cafe, they have been known to find you to tell you to stop. I've never seen them come into lecture to say anything but definitely have seen them do it in the library/PBL rooms. Professors vary on their stance. Some won't say anything but others may call you out in the middle of class. Same thing applies to being on your phone in lecture. If you need to use, step outside.

You are allowed to go get a drink of water whenever you want. There are 2 water fountains on each floor (so 4 total) so if you need to get water, get water. No one is stopping you from leaving the lecture/lab session. If class starts at 12:00 and you run to get water at 11:59, you might miss attendance and be marked late/absent. So wait like 10 minutes in and go. If you get accepted and matriculate into LECOM, it's just something that you're going to have to get used to. Is it annoying at times? Yes, but you'll survive.

Hello everyone,

Quick question, for the fourth year, do students choose were to go or are they assigned randomly?

Hello everyone,

From what I've heard, students put in for their preference sometime during their D2 year I believe. We haven't done it yet so it may be in the spring. From my understanding, you can "bid" for location or shift time. If you don't like what you get, you're allowed to "trade" with another student as long as it's approved by administration.

Does anyone know if Lecom sends out rejections? does the status on their portal change if they reject you?

To those who received interview offers: how long did it take for you to get the interview invite after you had received the "LECOM has processed your supplemental application" email?
Thanks all.

Has anyone else had their AADSAS portal changed to "Invited for Interview" but haven't received the email interview invite yet?
Yes! My portal was updated to "Invited for Interview" on Tuesday of last week (7/30), but haven't received an email yet. I reached out to them to ask about it, but haven't heard back yet. If you hear back on anything, keep me posted.

If it says invited for interview, please be patient. It will come. Congrats!
