For those of you who got an invitation. When you scheduled your interview, did you get a confirmation email?

I scheduled my interview yesterday, and I have yet to receive a confirmation. I am sure it will come soon!

Has anyone been able to get in contact with admissions yet? It's been 2 months since I first emailed/called and still no one is responding or answering the phone. They're showing that I am missing prerequisites (I am not) so I actually need to reach them but nothing!

Would you mind sharing how you knew that you were missing pre-reqs?

Yeah! So I had a whole debacle with my AP credits and basically what happened was every one I matched to my prerequisites was deleted when I submitted my application (for every school!!!). My status has been "the admissions committee requests a transcript with all courses" on the lecom portal for a really long time because no one was communicating with me how to fix the situation. I finally got in contact with them Friday though so now I am just waiting for my collegeboard scores to be delivered 🙂

I applied and paid supplemental June 20, but I just got the email on July 24th that my application is being processed now.
So has the consensus been that it takes about 3 weeks to learn about a possible interview after hearing that your application is being processed?? Just received that my supplemental had been processed yesterday...

I have an interview 9/12 and I’m looking at getting a Marriott from 9/11-9/12 if any girls are interested in sharing a room! Message me if you want to, rooms are currently 77+taxes a night total.

Interview #3
School: LECOM
Notification date: 7/5/19

Residency: Florida
AADSAS mail-out date: 6/12
Application complete date: NA

Dates available OR your interview date: 8/15

Congrats!!!! When did you get your "complete" e-mail from LECOM? The last e-mail I got from them was 'LECOM Dental Medicine has processed your Supplemental Application'. Does this mean my app is complete with them? The AADSAS portal for LECOM says my app is Received/Under Review. Thank you for any advice!

They processed my supplemental July 10. Thank you!

It's been a little over 2 weeks since my ADEA AADSAS portal changed from "Received/Under Review" to "Invited for Interview," but I have not gotten an email about an interview invite. I know some other schools were having issues sending out interview invites because of some new platform issues using ADEA AADSAS. I am not too concerned about it, but am getting a little annoyed since I am trying to plan out the next couple months and it would be nice to know where I stand.

Anybody else in the same boat here?

My status has been "None" since I submitted, I haven't even gotten an email that they started processing my app and my lecom portal has been stagnant. Not sure what they have going on over there...

My status actually just changed to "received/under review" and in the lecom portal it has now changed. It says that my application has been processed and will be sent to the committee for further review. No email from them about the status change. My app was completed 7/12 to give those an idea of where they're at.

Very relaxed. They didn’t ask any hard questions, but it was weird being in a group interview.
Yeah, this will be my first group one so I'm not sure what to expect. Was it more like everyone answers in a line, or just open floor?

What time did you guys finish? They didn't give us a schedule so I have no clue when things are.

It was supposed to end at 1:45/2:00 but we ended 2:20

Just go to the dental building

Would you mind elaborating more on the group interview part?
How many students per group? and do they ask you the same questions for all?

So it’s two interviewers and six people getting interviewed. They ask a question and whoever wants to answer first goes and basically you speak whenever you want to, but everyone answers the question asked whether they are first or last. The asked about seven questions, closed file.

I just interviewed at LECOM 2 days ago but my aadsas status changed from "invited for an interview" to "none" does this mean I have been rejected?

No I don't believe so. The status change on AADSAS shouldn't mean anything

Definitely not. You will not know anything about your admissions decision until December 2nd. The status on AADSAS at this point in time does not matter. If you already had your interview you were in the first group which is safe to assume your stats are really good. Don’t read too much into the status. Try to relax and just wait until December 2nd. Best of luck to you!

Update: Received the email this morning (albeit 3 weeks later)

I received the same notice around the same time as you but on AADSAS my status is still "none" how long did it take until your status went from "none" to "received/under review"?

Thank you so much for sharing this! Did you find it difficult to speak when you wanted to? Did other people quickly jump in to answer the question as soon as the person before was done talking?

no no it was pretty relaxed and civil. You could tell that everyone was nervous so its not like one person just dominated the conversation.

Are the interviews at the end of the day or spread out? Also, any time for snack breaks, lunch, etc?

Interviews are around the middle of the day. There are a couple of presentations at the beginning of the day, then interviews, then lunch with current students, then a tour, and then a couple more presentations and then you’re good to go!

There should be breakfast snack bars (possibly fruit too) and waters when you arrive. They aren't anything substantial so I'd recommend eating breakfast beforehand. Lunch is provided by the school's cafe and you'll have an informal "meet and greet" with current students (D1, D2, D3). So feel free to ask any questions that weren't answered by presentations. You can also ask questions during the tour.

The questions are left open to the entire group. There is no specific assigned order of who gets to answer and how long your response should be. Ideally, you want to answer the question in full but not take away time from other interviewees. The interviewers may jot down notes occasionally.

The interviews are in a group format for a reason. They're probably looking to see how you interact with others in a "competitive" environment. The format of the interviews is also somewhat similar to how some PBL sessions are run.

Are they still doing the soap carving this year?

I turned in my supplemental 7/13, received "application confirmation" email on the same day 7/13, and today 8/21 I received "LECOM has processed your dental application".

For those that received an interview, did you receive the "processing application" email? If so, how many days after did you get an interview invite.. just wondering if there's a trend here.

It look me 7 days to be invited to interview after receiving the processed email.

Hi!
So I applied to my schools in june and I wanted to apply to Lecom but i didnt have this school as an option in ADEA to add as a program. I saw much later that there was thread for this school, and i realized there is an application. I called ADEA and lecom and neither were of help. Can someone please let me how and where you applied?

Thank you!

It should be listed as Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Dental Medicine in AADSAS...if it isn't showing up as that, then I am not sure what else to tell you as that seems like a tech issue for AADSAS to handle. Hopefully you get it worked out. Best of luck!

Not sure if this has been mentioned in this thread, but yes there is a soap carving portion to the interview process at LECOM. No you should not stress out about it or practice for it. From what I've heard/read, people have been accepted regardless of how well or bad they did on the soap carving.

Does anyone know if they have a place to put your luggage during interview day. My hotel checkout time is early and I have to bring my suitcase with me

How long did it take to receive the supplemental application after submitting through ADEA?

My AADSAS was verified June 27th and DAT received July 2nd. I received the LECOM supplemental on July 11th.

Yes. I think they will have you put it in the security office or in the interview room. This is normal, and you will not be the only one with luggage. Good luck!
