For those who got accepted December 21 via email...did you guys get your packet yet?

and for those who were accepted before then...how long did it take you to get your packet?

Btw i got accepted December 21st in my spam mail as well!!! YAY first acceptance 🙂

Accepted on the 16, got the evil packet on the 28th. I chock it up to holidays and living far away from nyc.
 
woo hoo~~just got accepted via email. interviewed on 1/23/12.
 
Same deal here, exactly the same actually....interviewed 1/23 accepted a few minutes ago by e-mail.

LOL, I think I actually sat next to you at lunch based on your SN, you were the one who did the masters at USC right? Anyway, I was the guy from NY.

Also, waiting for you to post in this thread KH 🙂.

KH is here. 01/23 interview, lovely email around 4. I demand more people from 01/23 post on here, or I will report your sdn account so ferociously that Tom from Myspace will be tweeting Mark Zuckerberg about it.. please help satisfy imrealgerman's insane curiosity
 
I'm from the 1/23 group as well. Congrats to everyone and especially RalphMouth since you wanted to stay in NY so much haha. First acceptance so I'm pretty pumped

glad to be part of the NYU Class of 2016. apparently I posted on the wrong NYU Class (2015)

even though orientation is not till August 22nd (I believe), I wanted to get to know more of the school through SDN. I am fairly new here but I am curious to meet fellow other SDNers regarding the pro's and con's of NYU and why you guys choose this school.

for me Im from the midwest so it would be nice to be near home, whereas my other school is in the Pacific northwest.

Congrats man, its always nice getting the first acceptance. Hopefully more to come for you. Did you hear back from ADSOH yet?

Haha I had no idea I came off so pro-NY. I think its fun to live here, but honestly I think besides my friends and family the main things I would miss are food availability/mass transit. I'm an old man, so I don't drink til 4 am anyway🙂.

Did you make any progress narrowing down USC/Pitt? I was really surprised when you said there were practices in Cali that hire exclusively from USC.

wow you have a good memory. I haven't decided yet. those are words from couple current USC D2 and D3 so I have to check the validity, but Im kind of buying it 'cause I go to school at USC and I know how the alumni network works for us. who knows, I might end up showing up at NYU orientation 🙂

That's right, it starts moving in April. Interviews are conducted well into March, so the seats aren't filled up yet either. I just interviewed on 2/17, so I'm hoping for a response this week!

Aren't you pretty much guaranteed a spot @ NYU if you are in BA/DDS program as long as you keep up with some grade requirements. Just a speculation.

In theory, yes you are correct. However, because a few kids in my program didn't even get an interview invite, I'm a bit skeptical. It's always a surprise with the BA/DDS program... I can only hope for the best though! :xf::xf:

You would think that we would all be more secure with our applications because of the program, but it's just as stressful for us as it is/was for everyone applying to dental school! 🙄 Dr. Mejia even said that due to the performance of the BA/DDS class last year in their first year of dental school, she's going to be more strict about taking kids in from the program for the class of 2016.
 
do we get anything after we've made our deposits?

i'm thinking housing forms, health exam requirements, etc.

That's interesting. I'm assuming BA/DDS applicants in the previous years were not performing well in D1. You got a point there. Congratulations though still 😉
 
Has anyone from the 2/17 interview group heard anything yet? It seems like all the interviewed posters from above are hearing 6-7 days post interview. I called the admissions office and they said it'd be 2+ weeks though..
 
Congrats to all of you who got accepted!! You did great and I'm excited for you to start your great, but challenging 4 years in NYUCD adn NYC🙂 For those of you who are still waiting - please, do not loose your hope! The hard work you all have done will be rewarded!!🙂

2+ weeks from when you called? Or from when you interviewed?

I interviewed on 2/13 and haven't heard anything yet. I've been checking my email and junk mail folder religiously. The anticipation is killing me!

I'm from 2/17 group. I called admissions today to see what the decision timeline looked like. They said 2 weeks from Monday (3/5) we'll know, so 3/19 latest. So I'm guessing for 2/13 group you all will know by 3/12.

Also, people who heard 6-7 days after interviewing was because of the first deposit being due at that time.

Also as far as NYUCD admissions has told me, the decisions in February and March will all be via postal mail not e-mail. I guess I have to start sitting in front of my mailbox 🙁
 
Congrats to all of you lucky folk from the class of 2015! If you haven't got in yet don't lose to much hope. plenty of my classmates were accepted after me (feb 14th) and I thought I was late. My roommate didn't get accepted til the summer.

Thanks for the inspiring words. I'm really hoping that NYU shows me some love once the wait list begins to move. Also congrats to those who are in, hope I will get to join you in the fall!:xf:
 
I interviewed on 2/13 and got my waitlist letter in the (snail) mail today 🙁
 
Anyone from 2/17 interview group hear back yet? Seems admissions decisions for Feb. are finally out this week.
