It would make sense to me if they only had a few blocks open so that we all space out. For example, The next wave of invites might get a block open in August/September so you kinda spread out where everyone is.

I was wondering what have you all heard about Nova dental school (the good and the bad). I haven't been able to talk to Nova students or graduates.

Do you think that nova will send any interview invites this month? Also, I never got an application complete e-mail, but i submitted all my materials and completed the supplemental on July 30. Should I wait a little longer before calling?
 
Nevermind, I never got an application complete email or phone call. They just skipped all that and emailed me today for an interview, super stoked!

What month is your interview scheduled for? I am just trying to see if they have already filled up interview dates up to November!
 
Same. I had to schedule during December. I am pissed but grateful I got atleast one interview

It was amazing! That school definetely offers the best atmosphere and everyone who attended had nova as their first choice school. The staff and students are all so welcoming, it would be hard not to succeed there.
 
I got invited for an interview here yesterday! Everything moved very fast because my application was only completed the day prior...I'll be interviewing in September, it's my first invite and I'm pumped.
 
Just got my interview today.

School: NOVA (OOS)
Notification date: 8/08
Method of notification: email
Residency: NY
AADSAS mail-out date:8/02
GPA (science, overall): 3.5, 3.5
DAT (AA/TS/PAT/Reading/any section below a 17): 20 AA/21 TS/19 PAT/19 RC/none below 17
 
Interview invite for October 3!!! I'm so excited to be interviewing at my top choice! :soexcited:

Hey congrats. I was curious if you got invited today, how did you get a date in October? I got an interview invite last week, and there were the only spaces left were in December.

They re-open spots up so the interviews are evenly spaced out. When I signed up they only had November dates and on and then I checked again a few weeks later and they had more open up earlier.
 
Makes sense. Seeing as all of the pre-dec interviews are equal.
 
I got my interview invitation today and only December dates are available.... Does that mean this is a lost cause??

Why would that mean it's a lost cause? It's post-December 1st but it's an interview nonetheless.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm just curious but do you know normally how many seats in the class will still be left after Dec 1st?

It really depends on how many people that are accepted turn down the offer. As long as you have a strong interview, you should have a great chance of getting in.

Really wanted to apply here again, but my DAT is apparently too old for them. This must be how cougars feel 🙁

Strange, considering almost every other school still accepts my DAT.

Dang that sucks they said that cuz your stats look great! Did you talk with Dr. Lippman about it?
 
If my AADSAS portal changed to "Please check back on December 1 for more information regarding your decision status with this school"...... does that mean rejection? I have not received an interview

Thanks. I didnt talk to him, its in the dental school guide book. But its not a big deal, while I do like the school, I cant stand the Florida heat.

ok, don't let the heat scare you away, lol. I would still encourage you to reach out if you DO have a interest in applying, you shouldn't feel like the ADEA book is the end all be all. Good luck with everything!

lol thanks, Im part vampire/ginger from my mothers side so Florida would kinda be like the true death for me. Good luck to you too, out the 4 schools I interviewed at last cycle this was my favorite one by far.
 
I was supposed to interview with NOVA on September 5th but have decided to give up my interview because of other invites I have received and so that one of you can have that spot. Good luck to you guys!

Just got my interview invite! They only had January dates left!!!! I'm worried its too late! Anyone have any idea if its possible to get an earlier one? January just seems like they'll already have the class filled by then!

Honestly, I think that they will still have seats open, just because most people have accepted spots at other schools by then. Good luck

I wouldn't stress...they definitely know that they have "diamonds" still left to interview late in the cycle, they leave spaces open for this reason...

Haha exactly why I'm nervous. Worried I won't sparkle as much as some other "diamonds" that late in the cycle.... We will just have to see! Thanks for the encouragement 🙂
 
I spoke with a current dental student and he said the commitee will invite students until Feb. for interviews but the class will not be filled until later in the spring.
 
My interview is on October 16 at 11:45. Anyone have interviews in the same day and wanna split the cost of transportation or even living with me? I am a Asian male.
 
Anyone interviewing this coming Thursday (the 4th of September)?

For those who are familiar with the area, what hotels would you recommend staying in? I know Nova has a suggested hotel list... I'm looking for some more details/feedback. Any info would be much appreciated! Thanks!
 
I am a D1 here at Nova. If you guys need transportation to hotel or school let me know, I am happy to help if I am not in school. Also, I may be able to accommodate you in my apartment, if interested. Good luck to all the interviewees! I was interviewing at Nova just a year ago and loved it.
