*** The Official Nova Class of 2019 Interview/Acceptance Thread ***

No, I talked to Norma today and she said she was gathering the list of ppl and will be sending out the emails tomorrow morning-ish

How is everyone able to talk to them individually? I called admissions office and they told me to keep calling them instead. I feel like I am making phone calls for no reason =/

Looked up her number and she picked up right away

I called in and got a hold of Dr Lippmann on tues he sounded busy but took my name and asked if I was accepted anywhere else. Was told he would look over my app again but idk if its a good thing or bad BC I haven't gotten an acceptance yet like some others

I gave up on looking at the portal and mobile app, just waiting at this point.

Are there other people who interviewed in Nov/Dec that still haven't received a decision yet?

What did you guys say when you called Dr. Lippman? Just curious, I think that is a great idea. I have already sent a few short emails to show continued interest, but I don't want to come off as whiny.
Thanks!

No email or call, but the portal says waitlisted for me.

I have an interview in about a week.
Any last minute tips to what kind of questions they ask, the atmosphere, vibe, interview day routine, etc, etc?
How long is the interview + tour altogether?

So basically, post-december interviews are for waitlist spots, right?

Confused by your sig. Says there you interviewed 9/16.

But it's pretty much like any other interviews. Tour, then a interview. The students there seems really happy. The place seems like 1 big happy family. The whole thing lasts about 3-4 hours, depending on when you have your interview. Mine was particularly long cause I was one of the last one's to interview and Dr Lippman interviewed me for 45 min.

those are my notification dates. My bad!

What kind of interview questions did you get? were they generic question plus some curveball questions?
I felt really comfortable with UDM interview, wondering how NOVA is compared to UDM.

My case is probably a bad one to go off of. It was alot of him telling me about their programs, how friendly their students and faculty are, and how their interdisciplinary curriculum works. Not alot of questions asked. I think he asked about 2 or 3 questions total.

It should be pretty generic, why dentistry? Tell me about yourself. If you were on an island and can only pick 2 things to take with you, what would they be?
Nothing you haven't prepared for.

Idk about comparing to UDM though.

hate those tell me about yourself , strengths, weakness questions.
I have no problem with ethics, weird question like things to take to island, etc, etc.

Did you do research abouit the school before going to the interview?

Does any one know why they are not making any calls? I thought the next round of acceptance was supposed to be january 7th. I can't take this any more.

They did make calls. The second round of acceptances were out last week. The acceptance packages came this week through mail. Second round deposits are due Feb 1.

I had my interview on jan 7 . He told us , we will find out our results by feb 1 max.

According to dr. Lippman, people who interviewed in january can get calls before feb 1st possibly. He said possibly next week.

If you were waitlisted on dec, unfortunately, you will not get calls before the post-dec interviewees.

This is direct quote from dr. Lippmann.

How is it that people who interviewed this month can get calls before those who interviewed earlier? I interviewed late November and still haven't heard anything. I'm not waitlisted either.

I would think if you didn't hear anything by december 2nd, you are either waitlisted or have been deferred.
So, borrowing his words, he will not mix the waitlisted applicant pools with newly interviewed post-dec interviewees when they send out new invites.

It may be good new for some and bad news for some.

He said the same thing during my interview , when we all met him and had conversation before we had one on one interview .

I was interviewed in September got waitlisted and still haven't heard anything...this is torturous.. I wonder how many spots will be left after the January people now..

So he is going to give 25 seats out of the 30 available to January interviewees leaving only 5 open for all of those waitlisted? That doesn't make much sense. Yes it is rough lol

No, 25 he sent alredy and 30 left. My point is if let's say not all 25 will accept than more seats are will be for us. Sorry if I confused you.

so let me make sure i got this right. Post december interviewees have priority over pre december wait listers?

according to Dr. Lippman, he doesn't want to pool them together and yes, he said he will send offers to post-december interviewees first, then the waitlisters.

Hey everyone, I have an interview on the 29th and I was wondering how the post December interviews at Nova work. Are we interviewing for waitlist spots, or do we have a chance to earn a seat for the class of 2019? Sorry if this has already been asked.
