*** The Official Nova Class of 2019 Interview/Acceptance Thread ***

Interviewed in January, got waitlisted. So...here I am waiting patiently. But .... apparently over 300 waitlisters? What are our chances? :/
 
Some have interviewed as early as september and october so dont feel as bad. I am sure we will see light soon. All of us.
 
Hey guys, so if you were planning on applying for the next cycle, what would you all try and add in your new application? I never really considered on retaking the DAT and my gpa cant change cause I had already graduated last semester. Volunteering non dental seems to not be useful at all and finding some kind of dental related job or volunteering experience seems to be hard unless you got specific schooling for that. Any tips, advice, or recommendations? Maybe shadow a lot more? I'm also considering in doing a masters program to kill myself for another year but again not final yet. What are your thoughts!

Maybe I'm ranting, but schools like this are extremely annoying in the fact they seem to interview a ton of students and put a ton of those that interviewed on a waitlist, all the while they continue to interview. I really wish schools would beore selective in their interview selection so that if you are selected for an interview, you have a great shot at gaining an acceptance (ie UCLA, Maryland, and other schools).

Hey sorry for the late responce but NOVA in only interviewing 500 students this year for the 230-240 class size.

I haven't heard anything.....I'm sure by now if we didn't hear anything then we were not the top of his list because by now I'm sure he has called people. It's already two days after the deposits are due, so my sure bet is that he already called the students that were on top of his list.
 
So is this it? Did anyone try to call them and see what is going on?

I actually tried calling them multiple times, but nobody picked up. I called Dr. Lippman, Su Anne, Norma and I got no answer. I finally called the main admissions office number and a lady picked up. She didn't know the answer to anything. The only two things she told me that she knew was that Norma was off today and Dr. Lippman was there at the school today. I'm pretty sure if he was not there today, he most likely made the calls yesterday because he told me directly last week that we would hear or expect to hear something by either the 2nd or 3rd of April. His words don't mean much because from previous interaction with him he doesn't stand by his word at all. But I would say most likely he already made the calls. I hate to be negative but I think our chances are very small now.

I'm glad someone else sees what con artists and liars those guys all are. In my interview group, one of them went on about a Nova alumnus who had grossed ten million dollars the prior year. Another Prof wasn't in on his little scam and naively asked who that was. It was abundantly clear to anyone who has ever worked in sales that there was no such alumnus. It was a story to get everyone excited about going to Nova and getting rich. It was a lie. The only reason to go to this overpriced mediocre school is if you don't get in anywhere else. Thank God I ended up with other options.

I don't know if he was actually off or not. The lady that picked up the phone from admissions office said that Dr. Lippman was there. She seemed like she wasn't sure, and I tried calling his direct line he never picked up. If I were to guess I think he was not there, but then again the young lady said he was there, so I don't know.

I wish I heard something positive i would have definitely shared. Someone should call Dr. Lippman. I have already annoyed him enough. He definitely called people but it seems like no one wants to share if they got the news.

Trust me if I heard someone positive I would have shared too. There is nothing to share cause we haven't heard anything.
 
I don't know if they have this with dental schools but I know with med schools they do, but isn't there a thing where by a certain date you have to pick just ONE school to stick with or something? Otherwise you're holding multiple deposits at multiple schools.
 
So I've never posted on here before (I just like to browse lol). I was waitlisted and got accepted last week, mid-week. He didn't mention how many seats were open, but then again I did not ask. Hope this helps someone.

I know it's very tough right now. I was in the same boat as everyone here, until I received my acceptance on April 2. Dr. Lippman called me, and offered me the spot, which I accepted. I did not ask or receive any other information regarding open spots.

Also everyone here I assumed was interviewed, just like myself. In my interview Lippman spoke about how he occasionally read these public threads. Probably shouldn't say anything negative on this site that could hurt your chance of receiving an acceptance.

Hey, you never know. Only thing I would do from now on is keep calling once a week. Get your name out there.

Yes. Someone at the school I WILL be attending next year said of Nova. "Look closely. It's all people who got fired from NYU."
 
They just tell me how I am still under review and if I hear anything ill get a notification through mail or email. The usual.
 
I wonder if anyone was taken off the waitlist this week...
