Hey all! I am signed up for this date. 8:00 a.m. Yikes!!! I am aiming hard to make 40+ my reality so hence me making this thread so early. A former lab- mate and current medical student had a ton of MCAT prep stuff she gave to me. So I have the Examcrackers set, Hyperlearning set, regular Princeton Review, audio osmosis, and practice MCAT tests from a variety of sources I also do the MCAT questions a day through email and on my phone (to help with super quick recall). I am officially studying legitimately now. Currently starting with Examcrackers. I'd love to hear from you all doing the same. Let's do this!!!

I think the verbal played to my strengths for once. I was actually focused and verbal never was a glaring weakness for me. We'll see, though.

For PS, i only recall completely guessing on one discrete. Everything else i approached reasonably but who knows.

With the exception of one passage, BS was very much doable. I gave myself tons of extra time so i spent like 15 or so minutes on one passage so that really gave me a chance to decipher it. Hoping that works in my favor.

The fact that im not freaking out scares me. Generally when i feel decent i dont do well. December 9th can just get here already...

also am I the only one who never uses the breaks I just like to power through lol it helps me stay focused

gross that sounds disgusting lol. i NEED a second to breath. you don't even just sit at your desk for a few minutes? literally straight into the next section?

HA yeah I sit for two minutes tops and just keep going. I swear its the only way me + my ADD+ plus this test get along haha

also I must be in a really focused mood today because I have been studying for the last three hours lol or I just have no life.

this is going to be me for the next couple of days:

Just woke up from a nap and boy oh boy did I enjoy that!

I ended up voiding my test for a few reasons. I went in there thinking that if I have any, and I mean ANY, trouble with time I would void it.

PS: I felt in was calculation heavy. Had to speed up around the middle and ended up with 7 minutes to do the last passage. I felt uneasy but was only considering voiding. VR was really my determinant, if I think I did well I would go through with it, if not I would void it.

VR: I actually enjoyed reading the passages, maybe too much. I ended up guessing an entire passage and that sealed the deal.

BS: It was very fair and what I expected. Denser passages with straightforward question and a passage on ochem. I felt this was close to AAMC 11.

I feel sad that I won't be getting a score on Dec 9th like you guys 🙁. I was shaking when I hit the void button. At the same time though, I fell like I would end up retaking it anyway because I would get a 6 or 7 on verbal so no point in having a bad score on my record.

I can't wait to hear about your success, guys!!! You all made it through so far and that in and of itself is enough to call you overachievers! My Kaplan teacher once told me that you have to be smart for simply studying for this exam because you made it through college biology, gchem, ochem (I love ochem, lol), physics, and other premed classes you might have taken with grades good enough for medical school. Give yourselves a pat on the back and try to enjoy your month to the fullest, sit back and relax because you deserve it my friends 🙂

What if you scored well?

Since the test I have been thinking about the easy ones I know I got wrong

[
I found questions near the end easier but I spent the bulk of my time on the first ones...I AM SCREWED, All the ones I remember are the easy discretes that I stupidly missed...easy points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From reading everyones weigh-in it sounds like I'll be getting a 10/14/2. PS I'll be interested to see, Verbal I cannot WAIT to see, BS can go eff itself in tehz A.

is its the game of the test arbitrary units to trow you off, and well this PS section was mean to annihilate your confidence and test how good you can overcome obstacles under pressure !

I dont remember the exact question but didn't solving it require you to know a conversion for that unit?

For all of you guys out there with scores coming out Dec 9th, try to not think about the test and what you got wrong. It's okay if you lost an easy problem, maybe you got all those hard problems and you just don't know it! My sister said that the nightmares start happening after the test and not before but seriously guys, just chill lol! She was going to void her test when she took it last year but she got an amazing score. You probably did better than you think and if you think it was hard, chances are other people think so too and they will curve accordingly. If your AAMC average was good then you probably did great. Now focus on making the rest of your application great (or just watch TV hehe) 🙂

God no. I had to run to the bathroom every break hahaha
haha yea me too. the lady said to me "i guess you just wanted to power right through it lol" when i was finished….i guess a lot of people take long breaks between breaks? i just thought waiting wouldn't do me any good

honestly I'm mostly nervous for BS….i always got between 11-13 but i feel like those two passages killed me. I'm hoping that i reasoned correctly but i def had to guess on three questions and now I'm starting to think i didn't do well at all and hoping for a 10

I didnt spend any of my breaks waiting around. I peed, ate something and drank some water. And did some deep breathing at the computer until the timer ended. I think it helped.

i thought there was a fair amount

I thought there wasnt any more or less than usual.

i just stayed at my desk and looked at the screen getting ready for the next section

Id been working on techniques with my therapist on how to approach the exam. I approached it with a better attitude, and paused to breathe when i needed to. I tried to avoid thinking im not prepared (still dont think i was).

But idk. I had a very clear head during the exam yesterday. Hoping my score shows that.
