***The Official NYU Class of 2017 Interview/Acceptance Thread***

Suppose to get a mail by today, but it hasn't come yet.

Based on the past replies,

late-Jan interviewers got emails for their acceptance notice on Feb 1st.

I had an interview on Jan 25th and still hoping to get in.

This waiting makes me crazy.

I wonder what happens if I get wait-listed.

How long should I wait more to get a decision?

If/when anyone hears back from their interview on tuesday feb 6th, please post....thank you

Should be getting something in the mail today, praying its an acceptance packet 🙂

I turned down an interview invite today so they're still interviewing.

Hey all! Interviewed on Jan 30, still haven't heard anything...but there's still time! Dr. Mejia said that we should hear back within 2 weeks of the interview date. Good Luck!!!

Hey, interviewed on the 30th also. Nothing in the mail today. I'm keeping hope as long as I can. In the end being wait listed isn't the end of the world. NYU has a very active wait list. I plan tpstay positive as long as possible. Also it seems the 1/30 group is taking a while to here back in general.

For those waitlisted, don't give up. A lot of seats will open up when the next deposit comes around. Many people, including myself, have deposits at NYU along with another school because we are still deciding which option is best for us.
So, it's not the end! I am sure many of you on the wait list will hear good news in the upcoming months.

Good luck!

I had the interview on the 8th of February and can't wait for the decision!
I'm from NYC and I loved the school so much.

Someone told me that his friend had an interview last tuesday (5th) and got accepted on the thursday of the same week so hopefully I'll hear back soon lol

Also, I believe they send out the acceptance emails prior to the acceptance snail mails so check your mailbox and check the spam as well, found my interview invitation inside the spam folder before

Interviewed Jan 30th. Waitlisted It's probably going to take longer for those who live outside NY to get any letters via snail mail since the snowstorm just hit.

Nobody knows the possibilities for waitlisted people to be accepted.

On the other hand, it looks to me that there are lots of people getting waitlist letters.

So far it seems waitlisters do not get the decision email from NYU..

What do you mean by this?

That accepted students received an email by NYU prior to the packet/snail mail but there were no rejection or waitlist emails sent out - just snail mail. Someone pointed it out a page or two before as well, didn't see it before i posted lol

Seems like a lot of waitlisters this year compared to past years

Most likely due to increased amount of seats this year.

Just called them this morning, never had any interview with them yet, but they said that a mail was sent to me. Does this mean I got rejected without interview? T__T

No it could've been they sent you an email and went to your spam and you didn't know it came. Thays what happened to me and luckily I found out about it a week after they emailed me. So aak them just in case

Anyone know the cheapest locations for living in new york if one were willing to commute up to 45 mins...just curious!

I heard jersey is an option as well

Thank You! 🙂

Definitely recommend Astoria. It is safe and easy to access Manhattan. It is the Greek neighborhood and there is some amaaaazing food there. Long Island City is cheaper than Astoria and closer to Manhattan but definitely a less safe area. Also not as fun.

Also, Upper East Side is anything but cheap. Don't even bother looking there if you are trying to save money... Even if you go all the way to the water (York Ave) you're looking at over a grand a month even with a roommate. You can get much more in Astoria for a lower price and transportation can even be faster because you'll be closer to the train.

parts of lic are becoming crazy expensive (YAY GENTRIFICATION!) and that entire neighborhood seems like its being split in two: everything by the water and 7 train is for manhattan transplants in high rise condos and everything else is kinda crappy.

astoria, woodside, sunnyside are all great (relatively in the same area) because they're cheap, safe, and not too far.

east williamsburg not so much. my family owns property here and unless youre living in a really awful part thats about a 20 min walk from the train, or your apartment is falling apart its also expensive. but the commute is amazing, which is why i plan on living at home. its just the L train three stops, and it lets you off a couple of blocks from school!

I was told during my interview that we would here by the end of this week....
Have not heard anything. Such a let down.

Same here. it's killing me. I'm checking my email every 3 minutes, litereally.
When did you interview?

They said the same thing during my interview on 2/6. Checking my email every 5 min is making me very unproductive. 👎

i got my acceptance packet today. no-emails. i live right outside of NYC so i guess i was one of the first ones to get them?

I see. Congratulations! I hope I get one today too I interviewed on the eighth and live in nyc lol

Hey guys. For anyone wondering, I interviewed on 2/6 and got acceptance email on 2/14. If anyone really feels good about their interview and just waiting, I suggest you call the office and ask for the status of your application. Good luck!
