****The Official Roseman Univ. Class of 2018 Interview/Acceptance Thread***

Made it onto the alternate list today - probably pretty low on it since its so late so I don't know how solid my chances are at this point. Really grateful to still be under consideration though!
Did you just receive it today? Maybe they're planing on accepting everyone alternate list (meaning calls coming in tomorrow). Haha just wishful thinking. But hey in that case you'd still be in pretty good shape.
All kidding aside, we dont know how it works, you could be first on the list.

Has anybody else been accepted since the February interviews? I've only seen one post saying they got the call???

Well I for one always believe what I read on the internet and see on TV... 😉

... But in this case I am skeptical. "Kanthari" who has no other posts except one in 2011 claims to be accepted on February 18th. Those of us who interviewed on February 7th probably recall the admissions girl and the dean state that no acceptances would be given until March and likely mid-March at that. In addition the Facebook class of 2018 page still has the same 38 members it did before we interviewed. If any acceptances were to be given out already then I would assume some of them would join the facebook page. If they have accepted "Kanthari" and no one else then this person has some sort of unfair advantage with admissions and the interview was a formality. I remain skeptical that this person was accepted until further evidence presents itself.

I look forward to seeing all the "I got accepted" posts in March. I'll be posting on here right after I hang up- well after I tell the spouse! Good luck everyone!

I was thinking the same thing. I was finding it hard to believe that only one person (that posts on SDN) got accepted. And I do remember them saying the decisions won't be made till march so I thought it was weird to see that post.

How many are on the wait list? How many people were given "alternate" status? Just curious

The short answer for this is that only the admissions office have the answers, and they won't tell you. "Our alternate list, as determined by the Admissions Committee, changes frequently and because of this we do not release the order of the alternate list". My guess though is probably more than 80 offers of which maybe 40 accepted and were placed on the list.
You guys need to be more patient, you've only been waiting for a couple of weeks.

has anyone from the alternate list heard back yet?

Also for the people who have been calling in what phone number are you using to reach the admissions office?? I never get through?:thinking::thinking:

Are there only 4 papers we send in for the alternate packet? (alternate acceptance, financial student info, admission info, and essential functions)

It doesn't seem like it.

keep calling (try mountain time around 9 AM). Im sure they're super busy

For people who are trying to reach the admin offices, they're are often really busy. Definitely try and reach them but use good judgement. Don't send 30 phones call in 15 minutes and clog up the lines and be all CRAZYYYYY. Likewise with voice messages, best to just keep trying back periodically.

I got an interview invite today, but I will be turning it down. Good luck to those interviewing!

Well, I was looking forward to meeting everyone, but it looks like I will be giving up my spot after all. On the bright side, someone from the wait list will now get to attend this wonderful school. If anyone has questions about the interview or anything, feel free to PM still; I would be happy to help!

received an interview invite today, turning it down. I hope someone who needs an interview receives one! Good luck to everyone

I have been trying to reach them for 2 weeks now. I have tried all different times during the day. Does anyone have a specific number that has worked for them?

Will Roseman send a confirmation email when they receive the alternate packet?

Yes, I received a confirmation email from Amanda saying that they received the complete packet and that I'm officially an alternate..

Will be turning down my interview invite. GL everyone!

Does anyone know the remaining interview dates?

Interview offer yesterday.

Does anybody know how full the class is? Also, why is it impossible to reach them by phone?

Just received an interview invite yesterday. I will be interviewing on March 7th. Does anyone know how many people are interviewing that day?

About 100 people will be there March 7th vying for alternate/wait-list spots.

Is that what you were told by the admissions office? For those invited for interviews, are you offered a morning (8AM) or afternoon (12 PM).
I suddenly feel like I'm never going to be accepted off the list :/

I was only offered the 12pm interview. Are those who were recently invited really interviewing only for alternate spots? Because I have to fly out from California, and I thought it was for an actual spot. I'll probably still go and test my luck..hopefully I can get accepted.

Anyone from the Feb. 7th group get accepted? I interviewed that day and received the alternate email this past Thursday, Feb. 27th.

I really need a ride there..If anyone is going to rent, please let me know. We can split the cost.

Hi! congratulation on your acceptance! My interview is coming up on this friday. I was wondering if you could give some advice on interview. I heard there is group discussion(?), the scenario woring with others(?). How should I prepare for this part? What were the interview questions? Thank you! I will be very appreciated🙂🙂

Just read the invitation email. That gives you the topics to be prepared for. So, how did you overcome challenges, how do you perform in a team scenario and so on and so on. It's very deferent than most schools. When I called the deans office last summer I asked about the type of student they were looking for and the first thing that came out of their mouth was that grades were not that important to their admission criteria. They said that last years class had a poet, former musician and a professional mathematician. So they are def looking for non traditional students. Group team work is the major theme of the school so that's why they ask about it.

To address the earlier post about those attending the March 7th interview being eligible only wait list positions then please reread your invitation email. It says you will be interviewing for a spot as one of the incoming 80 members of the incoming class. So spots are still open.

when did you recieve your invitation for an interview?

For those who have interviewed at 12:00pm, what time did you finish by? I am trying to see if I can catch a 5 or 6pm flight afterwards, thanks.

If anyone is interested I am arriving at 1:30 on Wednesday (tomorrow). I have a rental car booked, if you are willing to split the cost let me know. I'm considering making a trip to Alta ski resort on Thursday in the afternoon to keep my mind off the interview, or general sight seeing possibly. PM me if you're interested in getting together, I'll give you more details.

Anybody took a cab to the school? I am planning to take a taxi at the airport on the interview day and I was wondering if getting a cab would be a problem?

What have people heard about the clinic at roseman? Are they having trouble finding patients?

There is a big taxi area at the airport, you should be fine. If you are staying at the sleep inn or super 8 i can give you a ride in the morning (if you have the morning interview) im also heading to the airport straight after the interview, i can take some folks over. PM me.

Thanks! I am actually going to the 12pm interview but it is assuring to hear that taxis are readily available at the airport. My flight schedule is kind of tight so I really don't want any surprises.
